This is quite possibly one of the best documentaries you will see regarding the actions of the United States in Central and South America since 1945.

Damn that was a weak attempt to deflect Guy. And judging by the sheer speed of your response, you didn't actually bother to watch the documentary.

Deflection? Wholesale Chinese colonization of another country's land land? Exploitation of the mineral resources? Meddling in that country's internal politics/ And this is just what we hear now...wait another 10 years and I am sure that we will hear many stories mirroring the US horror stories in Latin America. Most of what we hear now happened 10 or more years ago. I watched the first few minutes of the video and felt it was another attack piece not worthy of devoting any more of my already numbered minutes on Earth. As I previously stated, the US is not innocent, but name me one powerful country in recorded history that I could not make the same claims about.

Yes Guy, deflection. You know, when you attempt to excuse the actions of your own government by highlighting the flaws of another. Thats like conveniently ignoring Vietnam to point out Suez or the Soviet war in Afganistan. That's like ignoring McDonalds disasterous contribution to public health by pointing out the flaws in the Burger King menu. It's a cheap, transparent tactic, and its born out of an inability, yet desperate need to dispute the content in question.

This thread is about a documentary regarding the actions of the CIA and the US Government in Latin America. Not about China, Russia, Britain, France, whoever. Try watching the vid, rather than posting after only a few minutes, wrapped in the Stars n Stripes. You might seriously learn a few things.

...we claim to be better. that is always Pilger's point of departure. but if you define 'our people' on the basis of race you'll never understand his message.

Well yes, if you're a flag waving wannabe Nazi, then you're always going to be at a disadvantage in life, especially when your programming makes you shun educational material on the basis of it offending some misguided notion of patriotism.

Thanks. It's was awesome of you to post it, and then come in the room and tell me how stupid I am.

Now I have NO idea what is happening on Lovejoy, and I'm going to have to rewind it.

It's good for a couple to communicate every now and then.

If it wasn't one of us telling the other how stupid they are acting, it would just be a relationship based on sex.

Not that I'd mind.

*lightbulb on*

Are you sure it's been, "fuck me stupid", or has it been, "fuck me, stupid."?

I prefer not to ponder questions like those.

I've found that knowing what people actually mean can be quite disappointing, so I stick with making stuff up.

It was good for me, too.

You and the 8 other guys who got bought free drinks for her and her "friend" the last time we went out.

Fantasy makes going out in Santa Barbara very economical.

Yes, that's one of my basic rules.

I'm not mean for lying. You were dumb for believing me.

Well this looks tasty....I'll use logic and presume this is Cogburn's RL wife...

Wait a minute...married couples bickering just annoys me...I'll see myself out.

It never becomes drama...not in California anyway.

I've tried, believe me. California boys do not fight. My whole Southern debutante routine tends to render then completely motionless. It's kinda sad, really.

I went for about 6 months telling boys my name was Jimmy McNulty and asking for a Fat Tire and a vodka redbull and then disappearing.
