Hi mate, sorry some of the photo's are a bit dark but you know how dark it is in those secret bunkers. The guards were walking a tight schedule so i couldn't afford to turn any lights on just in case.

Couldn't find any documentation on how much luck the grey bastards had gotten in reverse engineering our technological marvels, but at least 2 of craft were undergoing flight trials.

Tell JL that the dude from Venus sends his regards.

Ive probably said to much already ... as regards the mission I have been instructed to pass on to you that .... " the badger crows at mid-night" I repeat ... "the badger barks at dawn" ----over

jebus Anarch ..... sort it out and post it .... when Im not irritating the good folk of Amkon I live and breathe , (but mostly read) this stuff .... short of hurling one round the sky , the next best thing is hearing the stories .... so for everyones sake get ya "A" into "G" or I'll have to start telling some of mine .. (and we'd rather not go there now would we;))

Well He was briefly mentioned in the book KORA. .. He got shot down once to and so he got the special treatment from the Japanese for a little while (EDIT: IT may of been Korea or Vietnam. Keep in mind I only get these stories third hand.) which is what Kora is all about... He flew most every plane made from 49 through the 80s... did some test piloting and helped with the testing of the Apollo stuff in the 60s (Capsule recovery I think) mostly though he was a bomber.

Sadly I do not know many of his stories... By the time I came on the scene in his life vodka was his breakfast brunch mid day meal and night time snack.

they have another sub there now as well. plus the wheelhouse from that ship that got blown through its own ass.
they have really spent a lot of money upgrading the place. heaps of great interactive stuff.

our satelite TV is all run through Aus... we get what you get.... a lot of the "fill" between programmes is the War Museum history , interesting stuff ... I must be one of the few people to have had a "play" with a real "Owen's" machine gun ..... what a weapon, and a classic story of "can-do" colonial style :)

I hav 3 sets of original pilot wings ..... ( 2 are fighter pilots)

these belonged to a South African flying in the RAF during the Battle of Britain
http://amkon.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=897&stc=1&d=1274222031

this set Im not sure of ... pretty sure they wre a from a maintenance squadron up in the Pacific
http://amkon.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=898&stc=1&d=1274222031

Because of the humidity on the Pacific Islands the kiwis also wore these matal wings... apparently they were the only outfit to do so

http://amkon.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=899&stc=1&d=1274222031

just holding these small things and pondering their provenance gives me a buzz.... Im told they should be in a "case" to protect them ( they are talking monetary value) ha ha ..fuck off :), the thrill is handling them , literally

So here are a few photos from the book Kora. It is a recounting of the experiences of airforce men and their time in along the Bataan Death March and their following 42 months as captives.

It will make you laugh, It will make you cry, and above all it will give you perspective of the men involved and my grand father...Who dropped the relief supplies to them after the surrender.

A member of the original Flying Tigers ...301st if memory serves me correctly... I can not find the year book currently. Bomber, navigator, tail gunner

As a tail gunner some shrapnel or a bullet went in through is jaw and out his mouth knocking out his front teeth. The only dentures he wore was where he had those front teeth shot out.

After the war he went on to fly in Korea, Vietnam , and other reconnaissance and skirmishes. At some point in his Air Force career he switched over to test piloting and thats where he got involved with the nasa folks and why I have some apollo 11 items. We (my family) share the medals, the patches , and the photos. Their are some amazing photos of the capsule testing.
