well. it was requested, and this seemed like a much better idea than surprise dumping this post mid-thread. some need retouching, one or two WIP, and greatly varying amounts of time spent on them. whenever someone asks for samples i don't really know what to show them because i don't really favor any particular styles. i'll have to take screens of my 3d work before i can post that.

Thanks for posting.
I like your style, and some of those have serious potential.
Those cartoon-style heads are very sharp.

Forgive me for prefacing with an anecdote, it's part of a penance lasting several weeks.
Of the 'great' art galleries, I have found over the years I prefer the MCA (Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art), the Australian National Gallery and the Hermitage, for very different reasons, over the Louvre and Guggenheim.
In particular, I have found I can 'watch' Jackson Pollock's Blue Poles from the chair at the appropriate distance (not the nearest chair), for an hour or so at a time.
Your art is exciting, not quite frightening yet until you show that one thing you are hiding. Thanks for bringing it to Amkon!

S1eepy, that was some really cool stuff. I hope you don't mind if I used one for my avi? It fits my personal beliefs to an extent.
I have always felt that we are all parts of the same machine, whether one is a lever, knob, gear, pulley or spring. All working in unison, dependant on one another, to achieve a goal. Whether it is for good or ill.

went rummaging through some of my 3d stuff. lots of lost textures, and i'm too lazy to render out by frame animations and make gifs. so you just get to see some random meshes.
made for UVW mapping practice:

random piece of scenery:

3 birds with 1 stone. both a group animation and an animated normals test. the normal map its self being generated from a seperate animated set of meshes.

I like the happy dialogue with demons and cryptic messages.
But what does that device do? It has a function, that you know, and should reveal...

i'd intended to use a redesign of the concept for an animated menu background. once the game was started the 'fold up' animation would play and throw the player straight into the game. on top of the flat surface (at the end of animation) is where an overlay displaying the players vital info would be. the motivating idea being to seamlessly integrate all aspects of the game into its self. to be seamless start to finish.

rummaging through files prepping for a format. i found this one from last fall. i really like the idea, but i don't know if i'll ever finish it. try using your imagination to complete the picture.
