As most of you know, pack setup an AmKonWiki (http://amkon.net/amkonwiki-packs-latest-complete-t24750.html) page.

The web address is http://wiki.amkon.net

You will have to register in order to make edits on the wiki.

Please do so!

This has the potential to be the "conspiracy theory" wikipedia equivalent.

I have been trying to make edits on a weekly basis, here and there cleaning up as you will.

I have not been great about creating new pages, and the ones I do probably need to be updated anyway (stubs).

Who would like to help out with this project?

On a side note, we want the wiki pages to be fairly accurate, I've already had to roll back one post in particular that was not even close to reality.

From now on though, if I do see that I will make sure to reference what the particular person said instead of completely removing the comment. I understand people have different opinions and viewpoints, while not necessarily accurate, should be mentioned nonetheless.

That way if we have conflicting views and what not, we can still have them up there.

Pack's new Avi is a lot less homosexual than the last one...

If you need any help whatsoever, please ask! I have setup a basic help page on the left side (http://wiki.amkon.net/index.php/Help:Contents), but it is in no way complete.

In order to create a page, type in whatever you want in the search bar on the left side.

If there is no page already, it will say, "do you want to create this page?"

If not, add an edit to the current page.

For the time being I'm using the current events page as a "how-to" page.

http://wiki.amkon.net/index.php/AmkonWiki:Current_events

Nothing on it yet, I'm working on that.

I just used it, works for me. If you are trying to edit a page and you're not logged in, you won't be able to. We disabled guest accounts to cut down on abuse.

In fact...We even had a russian bot register and create a spam page, those fuckers are getting smarter.

What browser are you using? Works fine in firefox and stainless (like safari).

Alessandra
04-28-2010, 01:43 PM
using chrome

Still not working?

Hm...Can you view other pages, just not use the search function? Try resetting your cache?

I see you created a username, there shouldn't be any problems after that.

Not seeing any problems with chrome other than a potential language issue.

Alessandra have you tried using another browser? I don't use chrome at all. I prefer stainless (a safari-like browser) for posting on amkon and firefox for everything else.

You shouldn't have any problems creating a new page or anything.

Can you test one thing? Click on a page that you could like to edit. Use the recent changes or current events button and click on a page that needs to be updated - they're in red.

Let me know if that works.

Also try clearing your cache.

I added a few "notable threads" to my page, and random other edits today.

http://wiki.amkon.net/index.php/Special:RecentChanges

If anyone wants to just throw something up on a wiki page, I will have no problem going through later and "wikizing" it.

Ideally folks would create a page about themselves, put a few threads/posts they like, interests if you feel that to be necessary, etc.

Suggest a small mission for a page or entry, and I will learn how to do this and create a fine wiki that makes me feel good about myself and evil conspiraces.

Alessandra suggested a checklist. I want to know some basic basics, please point me in the right direction.

Fuck it, I will do what Skunk suggested and start with a page about me, if one does not exist.

Fuck it, I will do what Skunk suggested and start with a page about me, if one does not exist.

Better be quick about it before IEF finds out he can create entries about himself, his good looks and his genitalia.

When he is done with that, there will probably be no room left for anything else.
:D

At some point I'd like to see the better researched threads end up on the wiki. There's only so much I can/want to do though.
