Photosynthesis Short Story Competition.
Rules of engagement:
1. No word limit, make it as short or as long as needed.
2. Up to 2 story's per entrant are allowed.
3. Story must involve conflict of some sort involving a plant or plants.
4. Competition runs until the 30th of April at which time a poll/vote thread will be started which will run for one week to pick a winner.
5. Submissions to be posted in the Members Contests Forum (http://amkon.net/member-contests-f83.html) in their own thread with the heading of the Story and (PSSC) in brackets.
6. In the event of a tie the tied submissions will share 1st place.
If i haven't covered everything post your questions in this thread and i'll answer them.
I'd like there to be a prize of some sort for the winnner/winners but haven't anything in mind just yet....stay tuned.

George enters the room.
"Here are the reports on Operation Intercept, sir." George tosses the reports onto the desk. "It's been a huge success. South America is threatening to break off diplomatic relations, Mexico hates us, and not only that, but we seized three joints!"
"Now, now, now, tell me George, what is a 'joint'?" asked Richard, looking up from the reports.
"Uh, you gotta be kidding, sir." said George, a little taken aback.
"George, I have a wonderful sense of humor, but I NEVER kid." said Richard in all seriousness. "Now tell me, what is a 'joint'?"
"Well sir," said George, "a joint is a marijuana cigarette."
"I always thought they were called roofers." said Richard.
George, a little uneasy, said, "Ha ha, yes, well, a few of us over at the agency thought it might be a good idea if you turned on before passing your new drug bill."
"Turned on whom?" asked Richard.
"Ha ha," said George, still uneasy, "well sir, 'turning on' means to get high, sir."
"I Am Hep!" exclaimed Richard, with great pride. "Now let me have one of those roofers, baby."
"Ah, um, yes. Here you go, sir." said George.
"Mmmm. Mmmm. Blah. Yuck." said Richard.
"Um, sir?" said George, "You're supposed to smoke it, not eat it, sir."
"Mmph. I already swallowed it. Give me another." demanded Richard, a little testy.
George hands Richard another joint and said, "Now sir, when I light it, you're supposed to inhale like this: ssssssssssssssssssssshhhhp. And then you hold the smoke in your lungs for as long as possible."
"Hurry up, George," said Richard, "I'm getting up close."
"Do you mean 'uptight'?" asked George.
"Whatever!" shouted Richard, "Just light my fire!"
George lights a match and holds it up to Richards joint.
Sssssssssssshhhp-gulp. "I swallowed that one too." said Richard.
"Oh, for the love of..." said George, "Here you go sir, here's another, it's already lit."
Ssssssssshhhhp. This time Richard gets a lung full of smoke.
"How do you feel, sir?" asked George.
"Well George," said Richard, "I see colors."
"Colors, sir? Like red white and blue?" asked George.
"No." said Richard, "I see brown. Depressing brown... I see Pat Brown! And he's Winning, George! He's Winning!!"
"It's okay, sir..." said George.
"Oh George," wails Richard, "I think I'm having a bum voyage."
"It's okay, sir, I'm right here with you." said George.
"Now, wait a minute... everything is changing..." said Richard.
"Yes sir?..." said George.
"I'm in a big house..." said Richard.
"Yes sir." said George.
"...in a big room..." said Richard
"Yes sir." said George
"... in a really big office..." said Richard.
"Yes sir, you are right here, where you always wanted to be, sir." said George.
"No!" said Richard, not believing his ears.
"Yes sir." said George.
"Really?" said Richard, still not believing his ears.
"Yes sir." said George.
"Then I made it?" asked Richard.
"Yes sir, you did" said George.
"I made it!" shouted Richard with great joy, "I actually made it! Finally, I'm the governor of California!!"

Also This particular contest was.. well.. This was not an easy concept to imagine something too... In fact I could not even ponder a method (that I like enough to use) that would fit in with my internet cafe story...
Maybe next contest I'll do better.
