What a gorgeous day!
I have a whack load of books to eat up and was thinking of taking a trip over to the LCBO for some wodka.

books or booze? lolol
Actually just a little light reading for today and some heavier stuff tomorrow.
If I want preposterous, I'll visit some of the other mundane intertubz outlets out there lol.
I just got back from the store. Opted for the Lager instead of wodka. :D
Made the mistake of wearing my bulky winter coat. Looked around at everyone in their short sleeve shirts, chuckled to myself, and said, "oh well...."
Do you have any favorite reading materials Chorl?

Keep to your medical regieme, and before you know it, you'll be settling down to a nice cold one before you know. Was gonna ask you...are you an ale or lager guy? Forgot if you mentioned it before.
oh ...and the other thing's I wanted to ask...
How's everything healing up so far? I kept thinking about your eye, and how you won't have 'depth perception' any more. You're still able to retain/hold a driver's permit, or is that out of the question now?
From what I heard from others here, and read from them and you, as to what transpired (accident), you are one LUCKY man. Thank your stars.

I was told it was tiouch and go due to the internal bleeding from my hip, and probably only saved by a blood transfusion from the ambulance man.

There's 'beer' (lager) and 'ale'.
That's how we Canucks describe/differentiate between the two.
Beer (lager) is a bit more 'smooth-tasting' than 'ale' imho.
Then you have to remember how our countries developed and the different terminologies thereafter.
Funny thing is...I like some of the 'stout' beers out there. They're obviously more 'filling' than most, but when it comes down to the 'ales', I haven't developed a taste for them at all. Some taste rather bitter to me in fact.
But then, I haven't had a GOOD British ale to discern with, have I? lolol

The problem we have in the UK now is that so many pubs chill down real beer like they do lager, totally forgetting that beer is live, its an aerobice fermentation unlike lager which is an anaerobic firmentation.
Chilling down real beer kills it. It should be consumed at slightly below room temperature.

Aren't you the helpful sort. lol :p
Remind me to enlist you on the next candystripers list at our hospital.
Then you can go around to all the sicky rooms and play Groucho Marx's 'Day at the races', and get Harpo to blast the fuck out of his horn around the coronary patients, whilst you shake yer mustache back n' forth and declare:
"Well aint that a vlassic pickle"

Larger are by far bitter than ales.
As for stout, if you get it on your side of the province or can drive to Quebec, get yourself a nice 6 pack of Boreale Noire (black). That shit beats Guiness extra stout any time of the day! (whatever the fuck they call/brew in america that they label Guiness)
Chorlton, ya wanker!
When you can have yourself a nice cold pint, have one in the honor of that guardian angel of yours, if you believe in such rubbish. Seems like you had a very close call.

You may not believe this, but allowing a Budweiser or Michelob to warm up considerably actually improves the palatability of the swill.
I'm not defending those beers......but when a host has nothing but that to drink, one tends to look for some sensory improvements in the process of getting falling down drunk.

The real Bud is fine to drink, as good as Urquell IMO.
I haven't looked around for beer threads. But it's seasonally warm today.

About?
Sorry for the late reply :D
It's going to be called "Peace of Cloth". We originally called it 'Piece of cloth.
Centered around the mythos of the 3 fates:
Atropos was the oldest of the Three Fates, and was known as the "inflexible" or "inevitable". It was Atropos who chose the mechanism of death and ended the life of each mortal by cutting their thread with her "abhorred shears". She worked along with her two sisters, Clotho (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clotho), who spun the thread, and Lachesis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lachesis_(mythology)), who measured the length.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atropos
We haven't yet decided the name of the guy involved, but apparently he's able to 'see' these entities at different intervals of his life and their involvement with his closest friends and family members.
We have a beginning, middle part, and working on the end (as the story is evolving, there are a few alternate ending), but to which one we choose, remains to be seen.

I've grown accustomed to drinking a nice cold one :D Tis the way.
Understandibly, room temp is supposed to bring out the best flavors in beer. That's cool. nadda prob.
But once you've sucked back your first bottle, and enjoyed the lovely aroma of what it's supposed to taste like, then all other bottles in the case, are pale in comparison. So I grieve for that wonderful taste by sucking back some more after that. This continuous affect helps me mourn that long lost flavor....
Untl the next case comes around, and the process is repeated yet once again.
