Abandoned towns. Ghost towns. There are thousands of em all over the place. They are usually half assed accessible by some kind of road, they usually have pre existing buildings, or at least foundations to rebuild on. You can house more than just yourself and your family if need be. Another great plus is that alot of the abandoned villages, hamlets, and towns were mining towns. Which gives you the added benefit of mines and tunnels to use. Most places are near a source of water as well. It depends where the town is, ie in the mountains or on the flat lands, but usually as a rule there is some kind of water close by.

Most are also returned to the Crown after gaining the ghost town status, so they are not owned by anyone, save the Queen. This would mean that records and any data on the town would not be readily known, and wouldn't have been for some time.

I mean shit, if you are gonna run to the bush for whatever reason, at least be smart about it. I would rather sleep on a nice cozy bed, than pick bugs off me all night in a lean-to.



When you consider that it can take less than 48 hours for half your city population to be starving in a black out and less than that for people to resort to violence and theft to obtain things like water and food, you may want to re think Plan A which has you standing off against a city of people gone mad locked down in your basement.

The numbers can vary, but usually not much. Within two days of no power, most fridge food goes bad. Also your frozen reserves are now thawed and starting to rot. All that is left is non perishables. Most people have no food reserves for emergency situations. In big cities consider the large poverty stricken areas and families there. They have barely enough to get by day to day. Once those small amounts of food go bad, they have nothing. The effect trickles upward. Those with more money and such, sure they have more food, but it doesn't last because most didn't feel the need to store any reserves. So within a small number of days, you have many people stuck in a brutal sort of survival mode. Hunger is a powerful motivator.
