Ripping Youtube Videos from behind the Firewall.

Greetings from behind the Great Bastard Firewall of China...

I am helping research a project and I need to get hold of the AUDIO from some youtube vids, but the firewall is fiendishly clever and I can't get round it no matter what proxy I use. These vids are essential and I have people relying on me to get them. I've asked a couple of other people but they are lazy flakes.

There are a bunch of Rippers out there if you Google Youtube Ripper Mp3...

If I gave the url's of the videos, could someone rip them to mp3 and then upload them to www.missupload.com (http://www.missupload.com)? I can't even get on Mediafire here.


I need about 10-20 vids. I can actually pay 12 bucks per hour for this if you've got paypal, and can wait a couple of weeks for the money... It's boring but easy work once you get into the swing...

Hi Watchdog, I don't need the video, I just need the audio, as a wav or mp3. There are a ton of Youtube to Mp3 Rippers out there....

I presented a paper on Ignoring the Great Firewall of China (http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/%7Ernc1/ignoring.pdf) at the 6th Workshop on Privacy Enhancing Technologies (http://www.petworkshop.org/2006/) held in Cambridge in June 2006. It turns out that this censorship system works by sending reset packets to each end of the connection, rather than blocking packets. If they don't dutifully close, but just discard the packets, the firewall is completely ineffective. Abstract The so-called "Great Firewall of China" operates, in part, by inspecting TCP packets for keywords that are to be blocked. If the keyword is present, TCP reset packets (viz: with the RST flag set) are sent to both endpoints of the connection, which then close. However, because the original packets are passed through the firewall unscathed, if the endpoints completely ignore the firewall's resets, then the connection will proceed unhindered. Once one connection has been blocked, the firewall makes further easy-to-evade attempts to block further connections from the same machine. This latter behaviour can be leveraged into a denial-of-service attack on third-party machines.

Wow thanks Mr Penny that's awesome.... I actually thought it was more like 3-4 hours work cos I am a computer-tard. As you don't want any money for it I'll pay it forward and give 100 RMB to the next homeless guy I see (about 15 bucks, a ton of money in China). I'll leave a note saying "Amkon thanks you." he won't be able to read it so the whole thing should blow the guys mind.

I don't give too much money to homeless guys in the west cos most of them in my hometown were druggies but out here some of them are genuinely needy. You see a lot of amputees in Hong Kong for example.
