So, what is the difference between "Recent Activity" and "New Posts"? The impact of choosing between these two green buttons fills me with awe.

The list looks different?

So it does.
I'll use the next half hour to see which "style" I prefer.

Ratings column is missing in New Posts option.

I prefer the term "Recent Activity".
The additional functionality of seeing your number of posts in each topic provided in "New Posts" may be important for Alzheimers sufferers and narcissists, I can go without.
Maybe I'll swap buttons every now and then, while there are two, for the sheer joy of it.

Indeed the ratings column only appears in Recent Activity, but there are few ratings given.
But the attachments and sticky icons appear in both Recent Activity and New posts.
Astoundingly, thread tags appear only in New Posts!
What wonderful parallel universes we have available to us.

This morning, I went the New Posts way. Enjoyed it.
Not sure bout tomorrow yet.

I'm doing the New Posts thing today too. Wow. How coincidental is that?

New posts are all unread posts from your last visit, the recent activity button is a list of the most recent posts.

I'm going with Recent Posts today. It shows more data than New Posts. Like who the thread author is, when they posted the thread, what category its in, who the last poster was and when. Yep, I'm using this today. After I read everything highlighted, I'll start using the New Posts option to stay up-to-date with the latest breaking posts. :compress:
