I am not saying the law of the gun is present. We are not under police curfew as of this moment. This is not in use yet. It is undergoing test flights and expected to be fully implemented in 7 months or less. It is a civilian police UAV drone. And if you listen to the Police Press Conference you'll note that one use included in the list is TACTICAL!!!

All of our homes have been Geo Tagged by the 2010 census. Now you know why. Exit your home or you will be fired upon. Disperse from the area you we will use tear gas. DISOBEDIENCE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED COMPLY OR OUR UAVs WILL DEAL WITH YOU!

The test was in Houston Texas.

Police make mistakes. They are human. This weapon allows them to make gigantos cluster fucks. This was never meant for civilian applications. It was novel when they put out fires. It is fucking overkill to be used as a law enforcement tool. Especially when you consider the militarys' WASP UAV. Its a small silent flyer capable of hovering that can silently kill. Limited range and flight time but practical enough to be applicable to the field.

Police go over board. Aside from psycho cops like Arpaio some cops are bad. The cops in the video that attempted to use police intimidation to stop the news chopper was wrong. In fact I would go so far as to call it illegal. They knew they were lying and intimidating but they did not care and attempted to do it anyways. Thats the new law enforcement officer.
Those are the kinds of people using. Their mentality will be at the helm when they get their own WASPs.

Its not martial law. Its not Brave New World. Its something else. Something worse than we could ever imagine.

I see lots of people using drones to communicate these days. What's new or shocking about this? You've been prepped and ready for years! Calm down. They can chain your body, but your mind is yours alone. Ehhh its cyclical. This time we just got neat gadgets to oppress ourselves with.

Their own fucking air force... I can imagine the next G-20... two or three of these bastards blanketing the crowd with tear gas... News crews, innocent bystanders, tourists with kids.. yaup.

If I saw the fucker flying over my neck of the woods I would not hesitate to shoot it out of the sky.

I wonder what frequency it flies by? .... Thats the counter measure. Jam its control frequency and watch it fall.

In NYC they have a high-tech blimp with bomb sniffers, xray vision, the works.

I have been thinking... I think I understand the geo tag a bit better. Lets say we see this thing fly over our home every day at 2:30. We get tired of it find the right signal jamming tool , use it....and nothing happens. It flies on. You can use the geo tagging system to set up an automated flight path.

This house at this geo tag is targeted. They use ECM and still get blowed up because it didn't require remote control to finish the mission.

If I spent this much money on the thing I would spend just that much more on a program to incorporate it and set it up exactly like that. Human operator with a stand by back up plan.

7 months and Houston will be online. I figure every city in the US will have its own civilian air force by 2012.

you will find it is not as easy as you think to jam its frequency.

let me explain:

my ~$500 RC plane/heli transmitter is good for several miles.
it operates on 2.4ghz spread spektrum, dual band.

it means that i actually have 2 connections with the plane in the one unit, just incase there is interferance on one..
it can also automatically reconnect on a fresh signal in the case of one suffering interferance.

the .mil have those trucks with the big tracking antenna on top.
obviously the dish automatically moves to always point at the plane for optimum signal strength and range. and its one whopper of an RC antenna on that truck.

it'd have an incredible range, and definately not running some off the shelf gear so it'll have a signal strength far greater than your average joe can create with the help of his local radio shack guy who couldnt even give you enough equipment to jam the signal on my RC plane so theres fuck all chance in jamming the .mil

for the equip needed to jam it or take control, you might aswell just go to your local "ammunation" store and buy a few extra clips.

You could do as the taliban and get the spying program and monitor the data it is collecting. See what they are up to.

My guess is that it will be looking for the best combination of donuts and coffee in a particular section of town.

Indeed and agreed but see post just above yours.

The Iraqi "insurgents" have figured out how to bring down drones...we could to...butat this point I don't think it will really matter one way or the other.

Ammunition... I would bet this thing flies high enough for that to be an issue.
Unless you have a 20MM and a tracking/targeting system. And even then.... the thing might be well endowed....

Coil Gun? You could rig a rotating projectile... A nice high velocity electromagnetic projectile.... meh...friction is always an issue with coil guns... Some folks manage quite well all the same.

We'll see how it plays out.

We had this one in war forum...

Militants in Iraq have used $26 off-the-shelf software to intercept live video feeds from U.S. Predator drones, potentially providing them with information they need to evade or monitor U.S. military operations.

Senior defense and intelligence officials said Iranian-backed insurgents intercepted the video feeds by taking advantage of an unprotected communications link in some of the remotely flown planes' systems. Shiite fighters in Iraq used software programs such as SkyGrabber -- available for as little as $25.95 on the Internet -- to regularly capture drone video feeds, according to a person familiar with reports on the matter.

Or you could just take a .30-06 and shoot them the fuck down.

Drones are remote piloted and rely on their not being detected for safety.

It's not going to go into defensive aerobatics, just keep shooting until it goes *pop*.

Assuming, of course, that you know how to shoot a rifle...

And of course you could do like the Taliban did and hijack the signal.

And of course you could do like the Taliban did and hijack the signal.

It's no more "hijacked" then it is "hijacking" when we watch the television. They can see the video feed....that's pretty much it. That feed, the video feed to the boots on the ground is unencrypted.....and for a good reason. Reasonably secured encryption to troops in the field, of that particular set of data, is a logistical nightmare when the management of encryption keys is involved. As far as the interception of those feeds go, the military's most common response is.....meh.

As far as "hijacking" the control signals? Not likely for a Taliban insurgent in the field.....those are encrypted satellite feeds to operators, who most often, are housed in the United States manning the controls.

Or you could just take a .30-06 and shoot them the fuck down.

Unlikely scenario, given a service ceiling of 25,000 ft. and a max speed of 135 mph. Even at a quarter of its max ceiling, it's still more than a mile high......and that's directly over your head.

At sea level....a .30-06 loses roughly 40% of its energy at 200 yds....fired at a level range.

I ain't saying an incredible, one in a million shot wouldn't bring down a Predator.....but the chances of doing it, even with repeated attempts....with any rifle.....are astronomically slim.
