LOL nice to see ya again Waldorf!
I think you misunderstood my statements on the pagans...
I meant to relay that the ancient religions (i.e. pagans) had rites that were very closely linked to the solar calendar... The fact that Winter Solstice falls 'round abouts' December 22-23 means that a celebration of sorts has been around for lots longer than any Abrahamic or Hellenistic religion.
Sun worship has been going on since the stone age... thus, the celebrations of the sort have as well.
I have no desire to burn books. But I do indeed believe that philosophy is indeed mental masterbation. At the end of the day, counting angels on pinheads doesn't really solve anything. Now when I look at history, reading on the philosophies of the time period is significant... but today... not so much.

Mr. Boycott’s proposal that Christ was “reborn” on the first day of chanukah is ingenious, however Mr. Cogs statement that “the Johannine teachings have been relegated to a footnote” is rather odd considering it is still part of the Cannon.
Seriously... if you want to have a discussion, just say so.
Not in the mood for sock bait today.

Hey- don't be conflating medieval angel counters with Philosophy. That in itself is an act of burning. Waldorf is correct in his assessment and you've proved it once again right here on this channel.

Waldorf is who he says he is. Of that I'm certain. I've never concealed the identity of any of the members of the cartoonsyndicate and he is not among them. I think I recall him saying that he's a retired professor from Kentucky who has a niece who's a member here. Not sure though because the thread was probably lost in the 'koidal colonic.

Being a native Kentuckian myself, there are a number of tests I could administer involving the pronunciations of certain words, but since we can't hear each other speak that is moot. Any number of questions I could ask about Loretta Lynn, Rosemary Clooney or the Derby could be easily answered by google. I am at a loss.
