Name the page that is to load with ...kon.net/ as index.html or index.php is php. Almost all servers use it as a default. Why redirect 301 to just get to the main page?

because for some reason, there's a different file by the name of index.html...
and if I rename the current splash page (start.html), you get 404's from some links on the site...
thus... the 301 to start.html.
I suppose I could go through and fix all the links and stuff... but meh...
redirect is fine.
The index page looks like some BS parked page for the site before it was in use. The 404 is built into it.

I meant that if I change the landing page's file name to index.php... it kills some of the links around here (I've noticed..)
Don't see how links would stop it but I take it as true.

because the links go to start.php...
I tried renaming start.php to index.php...
but, it breaks our links... (Mach III voting, and a few others)
It was set up as a redirect back in the day lol

I could TOTALLY redirect start.php to index.php
same effect... but a little more "correct" lol

Make the markup in index.html and start.html the same. (what is in start). they both accomplish the same thing at that point.

Internal server error for me a few minute ago.
The future must have decided your smites should be revoked. There is nothing any one can do to change this fact. Even it they could be restored, the future would get them again.

(I have to use mysqldump to get the backups remember, the phpbb backup is fundamentally retarded.)
