this phenom.

I know it was beat to death on most
boards. It had it's ardent believers and
staunch sceptics.

I found this site, that takes an interesting
look at it, and how it played out.

Massive amounts of links and info all in
one place.

If you emotionally detached oneself from the *scene* and stepped back to view the frenzied analysis and increasingly biased appraisals from both sides. Then in doing so you begin to TRULY appreciate the devastating and polarizing effects that the Drones continue to exert on perceptions, ideals and behaviours. Once this rather unsettling aspect is recognised and accepted then it is most certainly a thing of beauty and one that commands a begrudged respect, a respect that is beheld irrespective of original motivations or by any and all resulting conclusions.

I believe the Drones were more intellectually stimulating than previous attempts at manufacturing similar myths (such as SERPO for example) and they truly were a modern meme, a myth in the making, a hoax.....

Hi Lex, good to meet you as well.

Yeah the site is mine as are most of the Drone-related ramblings found there but as you already know the Drones were merely another footnote in ufology and its ever increasing list of hoaxes, I guess I was just trying to do my bit so anyone who stumbles across the Drone debacle in future will have somewhere they can hopefully confirm or refute their suspicions. Especially when the only resources available prior were meandering forum threads or the [s:byahb79t]Cult of Drone[/s:byahb79t] Drone Research Team site.

I see the Drones are still somewhat contentious regardless of the surrounding, regarding OMF I was there and apart from the “Analysis section” and the alleged two posts which Raj was supposed to have made it hasn't got a lot to do with OMF or ATS. I admit I may have re-posted edited versions of my own posts from several forums but most of them are lifted directly from my Blog (http://tinyurl.com/y8g67py) where all the posts I made were entirely my own.

Elucidation is exactly what I was hoping for and I guess I failed, but as you say if others want to read the 250+ threads and many, many, thousands of posts at OMF or the ATS threads then it’s all good. And as they are both linked from DroneHoax then I suppose at least I’m facilitating the elucidation of others in some small way.

At one point, I think the creator of this character was under suspicion as the hoaxer.

I am also a little uncomfortable with the word "hoax" being used with the drone saga.

I have no doubt about any of it being true...but it was fairly elaborate.

Hoax to me implies a prank...something juvenile.

One man's terrorist is another man's teenage son... I don't know if juvenile pranksters can be so easily ruled out.

If we accept that DrDil's site portrays an accurate timeline for the hoax, then the initial release was on C2C... well... that doesn't take much. Pictures of the bomb targets at China Lake make the C2C website as potential alien landing pads or magick ritual circles or some shit.

But... once the "drones" hit C2C.... fuck that... it's over. Every tin foil wearing moron within the reach of syndicated AM station will want to touch your dirty laundry just to be close to you. Note the discussion of employing it ourselves when we were discussing our own hoax. Rense is another good one, but you have to tie it to how the gubbment is going to enslave us all for him to take notice.

Once it hits the wild, unless you tie a "source" personality to the original information release and that person that continues to divulge new information... it's going to get meme'd by someone with the same or greater level of creativity than you.

"Issac" was simply "Chad" version 2.0. The other ancillary sightings (MUFON, Raj, etc) are versioning in between, providing "Issac" with enough of a backdrop to spawn his "CARET" ... and then placed it on a stick and dangled it before UFOlogy, laughing the whole time.
