On average, when I hit the hay, it usually takes me quite a few minutes before I doze off. Sometimes I'll deliberately force myself to watch tv and when I feel that my eyelids are falling, I'll drag my arse to bed. Reading doesn't cut it. I love reading but I'll keep that for the daytime. I've seen myself get so enthralled in reading a good book at night, that I'm like a little locomotive and will keep going for hours and hours. Pisses me off. Always thought reading would help me to fall asleep. Nope.
So usuallly I'll find something, not too exciting on the tube (most of you would say any channel will do lolol) and just lay on the couch quietly, til I start feeling realllllllllly relaxed, my eyeballs are rolling in the back of their sockets, and I'm slowly drowning out any background sounds. But if there's a good movie on, don't you guys hate it when you know you're sooooooo tired but try like hell to keep up with the flick; only to find that when you close yours eyes (what seems like a few minutes?) 1/2 the movie has gone by? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :arg:
Anyways...on to the dreaming part.
My dreams, like everyone elses, come in all shapes, sizes, scenerios, and for the most part, I'll dream about different scenes and not just one continuous dream in itself. I even dream in color. Imagine that? lolol Dreams seem to 'meld' into many stories and so on and so on and.... You get the drift.
Just before I woke up this morning, the tail end of my mind's storybook brought me to somewhere in the U.S. Damn!!!!!! It was so life-like/real. Didn't scare me, but I really thought I was awake and at that place
"Parkway Boating Races" - This is the name I heard or saw on a sign. I was up close to the edge of the water and could feel the breeze run over me everytime the boats went around the water. I could smell the salty air and sometimes would get a good whiff of gasoline from these boats. The boys were racing pretty hot n' heavy.
There was a crash with one of the boats hitting a (pylon?) and another boat? I saw the number 88. A yellow boat was flipped over, and people in other boats were scrambling to get to the flipped over boat. The driver hadn't emerged yet from under the water, and folks thought he might have been trapped inside (seat belt issue?)
Then I could feel myself slowly coming out of that dream. The sun was shining on my face, and it was time to get up.
What is a normal dream anyway?
