Thousands of pages of convoluted Obamacare law when all that's required is this 17 word bill:
"The age of Medicare eligibility is hereby amended by replacing the number '65' with the number 'Zero.' "
How do we pay for it? By reducing the funding of the war department by 80%. Simple.
And if that's not enough money- triple the 'death tax.' Let the dead pay for the health of the living.

Who the hell cares how we pay for it? We're never going to pay for it anyway with an economy based on fiat currency.

If you're worried about how it is going to be paid for, you have to look at economics. And our current economic structure dictates that it doesn't fucking matter how it is going to be paid for, because it never will be paid for.

I have no problem with socialised medical coverage in general. But I am concerned that poor people will be taxed for it, as usual. Why not just turn doctors into public servants, and hospitals into subsidised public institutions? Do you have to pay for service when you call a cop or a fireman? Why can't we do the same with medical care?

The fiat currency has been the vehicle by which we have all been made poorer. The single most effective tool in the destruction of the middle class. The Obama bill is aimed at "saving" the middle class, but the truth is it is just sugar coating on a jagged pill.
While I think the time has come for socialised medicine, and the need is apparrent, I would much rather see people being paid a living wage so that this debate weren't even necessary.

Not true. The difference is that the pauper will die in the gutter for lack of basic medical care long before the rich man who will live a long and healthy life. At the very least, the pauper will live a life racked with misery and pain for want of medical care.
In other words, satin underwear really is better.

The difference between Bernie Madoff and your average pauper, is that Bernie Madoff turned thousands of average people into paupers. But it is a long fall off the high horse for certain.
But don't sit there and try to sell to me that it is just as good to be the pauper. If that were the case, then we wouldn't be talking about socialised medical.

Poor, or the middle class well on their way to being poor because of flawed economics under the Fed. That's why most people are for it, including myself. But I really just get the feeling its a band-aid for a bullet wound. But then again, still better than nothing.

There is truth in that. But so often I hear the "have's" using it as an excuse as to why they dont have to help the "have nots." It's a fine line I suppose.

Fuckin classic!
Synchronicity too. I was watching Coming to America last night, and where he hands the bum the wad of cash there is the cameo..."Mortimer! We're back!"
