And this was addressed to kindergarden kiddies as well?

How the hell would they know what he was going on about...

[offsite:1pgvno9g]Some conservative critics feared that the aim of the speech was to recruit US kids to the liberal cause and brainwash them with socialism.

Their ire was sparked in part by a "Menu of Classroom Activities" which the Department of Education sent to schools around the country when the speech was announced. One of the activities suggested that school children write about "how they could help the president."

"That's Obama-centric. It's not focused on education but on the worship of Barack Obama," Michael Leahy, spokesman for the conservative grassroots Nationwide Tea Party Coalition, told AFP.

"This is indoctrination, pure and simple, into the cult of Barack Obama, and we are opposed to that," he said.

Well, if the pundits and politicians complain about how he's a socialist, and we just got over the communism scare, it makes a lot of sense why parents don't want their kids to watch his speech.

People for the most part aren't intelligent enough to think for themselves (or just don't, doesn't really matter why I suppose) and they have been manipulated into thinking that the last 8 years was heaven on earth, but now that we have a socialist democrat in office we're all fucked.

Have they really not been paying attention? Under what administration was the patriot act passed? The first bank bailout? TARP? The war on terror? Iraq? Afghanistan? Warrantless wiretapping of civilians?

The list goes on.

Every president since FDR has done this. I still remember how excited the kids at my school were when they were told that President Eisenhower was going to give a radio talk to the schoolchildren of America just before Memorial Day.

Maybe they could start a comp with China and see which group of school children can spout the most blatently untrue drivel about their own country.

It would be a close run thing.
