....not so much as a grainy sketch has been posted for a long time......John has posted this with the assumption that the linear shapes in the middle are structure.....by all means they could be....but Im not sure if anything has been said about the shape on the middle left, looks like a giant crawler with a white raised shell-like canopy thats been "mining" the lower "flat" and is crawling up/down the slope between the two:shock: ........

just saying .....(quote lex)

I'm not seeing a crawler but I do see the linear shapes. Would aliens really be using big Cats for mining?

I thought it sounded like Cog :thegeneral: .................good shit though, for sure

....here is one John posted, he had a series of them if I remember right,, the bottom one has the "crawler" circled......

when you look at it size wise it dwarfs the building-looking structure shapes

Inquiry?

You know how some of the craters on the moon are miles in circumference, well why is it that they aren't as deep as the ones we find on earth?

Luner ones are more shallow.

Ducky, im reading a book at the moment called "our mysterious spaceship moon" by Don Wilson - and they say that craters about 170miles across only have adepth of 2-3 miles!!!

amazon it ! good read

i mean 2-3 miles deep. how tough is that outer shell but also didnt the moon ring like a bell ? strange eh ?

Lexion

I've never seen the "ring like a bell"
vetted.

But, the crater depth is a great
question.

But, the crater depth is a great
question.

BINGO!

For example:

Can you imagine the impact of something hitting the earth to make a crater not only hundreds of miles wide, but VERY DEEP as well?

Now take that same object and fire it at the moon.

We see that the craters are hundreds of miles wide...but where is the VERY DEEP crater?

What the hell's stopping those puppies from penetrating further into the moon's surface?

graham72

also, apollo astronauts - all of them - said when the LO were flying over the mares their spacecraft sped up and flew "out of velocity" attribbuted to a large magnetic disturbance from them.

as for the craters, one question is raised as to how long the moon has been in orbit around the earth. then look at the 300,000 craters there, assuming that only a small proportion of those asteroids entering our direction too break through earths atmosphere. Do you not think earth should be pot marked a little more than what we already have. I mean, look at it this way, the earth is side-locked with us, so if the moon is getting shit-loads of bombardments why isnt there a small percentage that our earth is struck more ofton. God i am woffling on here - you get my drift - its late here. cut me some slack .

G

EDIT - UNLESS IT WAS TOWED HERE and it recieved more bombardments elsewhere ??????? possible ?????
EDIT 2 - another strange fact - only our moon is earth locked at 22.5 degrees, every other moon orbiting its planet spins and is centre locked. Also - the moon bulge is at the dark side not earth side.

god im on a roll

Lack of craters on the Earth is
do to weathering and tectonic
movement getting rid of them.

I accept that theory.

The moon has neither, so the
craters last.

The Earth is also mostly covered in water, therefore, most impacts will go unnoticed by land dwellers.

Cogburn

<sigh>

One might think that the difference in crater depth may be related to difference between the material found on the surface of both objects.

[offsite=http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect/moon/moon_surface.html:jp9h2qtg]Geological Composition
One striking difference between the Lunar surface material and that of Earth concerns the most common kinds of rocks. On the Earth, the most common rocks are sedimentary, because of atmospheric and water erosion of the surface. On the Moon there is no atmosphere to speak of and little or no water, and the most common kind of rock is igneous ("fire-formed rocks"). Geologically, the Lunar surface material has the following characteristics:

1. The Maria are mostly composed of dark basalts, which form from rapid cooling of molten rock from massive lava flows.

2. The Highlands rocks are largely Anorthosite, which is a kind of igneous rock that forms when lava cools more slowly than in the case of basalts. This implies that the rocks of the Maria and Highlands cooled at different rates from the molten state and so were formed under different conditions.

3. Breccias, which are fragments of different rocks compacted and welded together by meteor impacts, are found in the Maria and the Highlands, but are more common in the latter.

4. Lunar Soils contain glassy globules not commonly found on the Earth. These are probably formed from the heat and pressure generated by meteor impacts.

The Anorthosites that are common in the Lunar Highlands are not common on the surface of the Earth (The Adirondack Mountains and the Canadian Shield are exceptions). They form the ancient cores of continents on the Earth, but these have largely been obliterated by overlying sedimentary deposits and by plate tectonic activity.
Chemical Composition
The Lunar rocks may also be examined according to the chemicals that they contain. Such analysis indicates:

1. They are rich in refractory elements, which are elements such as calcium (Ca), Aluminum (Al), and Titanium (Ti) that form compounds having high melting points.

2. They are poor in the light elements such as hydrogen (H).

3. There is high abundance of elements like Silicon (Si) and Oxygen (O).

The high concentration of rare metals like Titanium, and the availability of abundant amounts of Silicon and Oxygen has led to serious proposals about mining and manufacturing operations in the future for the Moon.[/offsite:jp9h2qtg]

That doesn't even bear to mention that you have no concept of what a 10,560 foot crater looks like on the Earth because any crater that large was caused by world-altering impact, and given the length of time since the last one has occurred it might be safe to assume that erosion ruined the crime scene. That still doesn't take into account the object hitting the atmosphere, which is the physical equivalent of doing a belly flop into a swimming pool: all but the heartiest of material would be destroyed on impact with the atmosphere itself.

C'mon guys... you bored or something?
