Who is Joseph Moshe?

Joseph Moshe is the individual arrested for holding off the LAPD for 8 hours from within side a VW Beetle. He resisted no less than 5 separate gas canisters which were fully dispersed within the tiny vehicle.

GLP has linked Joseph Moshe to the Mossad without any proof, however they did manage to link him to some interesting biomed and viral sequencing background via images, news reports and online bios. An excellent bit of investigation, actually. Rare for that place.

However, I'm not convinced.

However, a review of images found online provides a little insight as to which one of the two Moshe's above might be involved in the standoff.

Well... If we go back to the old standby... the white pages... there is only one Joe Moshe in all of Los Angeles. (http://www.whitepages.com/search/FindPerson?firstname_begins_with=1&firstname=joseph&name=moshe&where=Los+Angeles+CA)

Given that none of the other Joe Moshes have any background in LA ... at all ... I think GLP is completely barking up the wrong tree. Your thoughts?

Just a thought Cog in the UK we have whats called Ex Directory and your name doe's not show-up in the book, you must have the same in the states,if so your man maybe ex directory,so educate this old timer Cog, is that possible.

True. The fact he was an old timer is what made me think to check the white pages in the first place.

Most folks under 40 nowadays don't have landlines therefore don't show up in white pages at all.

The fact that only one Joseph Moshe was listed in a city of over 10,000,000 people leads me to believe it's not a common name. The fact that there are only 3 people total on the internet (the third is in Florida) with that name would seem to confirm that it indeed is rare.

If there's another Joseph Moshe in Los Angeles I'd be surprised.

I think this Joe Moshe is a nobody and that GLP is suffering the effects of investagoogling.

A Westchester man who allegedly threatened to blow up the White House held police at bay for nearly eight hours Thursday as he sat parked in his car at the Federal Building in Westwood and was finally subdued when lawmen shattered a window, Tasered him and dragged him out of the vehicle.

The man, who authorities identified as Joseph Moshe, 56, of Westchester, initially fled from U.S. Secret Service agents who had attempted to arrest him near his home. Moshe fled in his bright red Volkswagen Beetle and parked in front of the Federal Building. Local and federal authorities feared at first that the car might contain explosives and boxed the vehicle in with police cruisers and an armored vehicle.

The Federal Building was locked down and hundreds of people were prevented from leaving the scene as the standoff wore on for hours.

The confrontation reached a climax when police used a robot to shatter a rear window and filled the car with tear gas repeatedly. Though officers expected Moshe to bail out of his car, he remained seated behind the steering wheel.

"Unfortunately to everyone's surprise, he didn't come out," said Det. Gus Villanueva of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Ultimately, officers shattered the driver's side window, Tasered Moshe and dragged him out of the vehicle. He was taken to a hospital for minor scrapes, Villanueva said.

Police had tried to negotiate with Moshe throughout the incident, but he refused to communicate.

Law enforcement sources who asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to speak about the case said Moshe appeared to have a mental illness.[/offsite:1l1ej8f0]

I dunno KIWI... Article says he's 56. He looks 56 in the 2002 picture. He looks damn good compared to how he looked 7 years ago... especially after being teargassed 5 times.

EDIT: The hair in the 2009 image is thin enough... assume he put on some weight... maybe that is Moshe #2.
