As sad as it is that he died.
And as wonderful as it is that he can be buried at home where his family can lay him rest.
Speicher was a lieutenant commander when shot down, but because his status remained uncertain, he received promotions during the past 18 years, reaching the rank of captain.
Do nothing, get promoted.

Wow, thats really interesting. But my bullshit sensors are going off. For one thing, the Navy has known about the crash site for a lot longer than a month. Hell, I saw a documentary on it years ago with actual footage of the site. Shit dont add up here

Yeah, real roller coaster for the family for sure. Sad.
But this story still sounds way off.
