It is our responsibility as advocates of free speech and the frank exchange of idea's and theory's relating to Conspiracy and Alternative topics to provide proper attribution to authors of original works and concepts.
In respect of this position it is a requirement to use correct code when quoting or copying sources and original content and to provide a link to the original article or concept whenever possible.
It is also our position that Cooperation and Respect with other CT forums is of paramount importance in the search for truth.
This does not mean that criticism, debate or opinion of other forums will ever be censored, only that proper attribution is given if quoting from these sources.
Furthermore, ATS (abovetopsecret) from this time forward is "personae non gratae", it is our wish that NO content from ATS is to be posted on this forum or links provided to their forum.
This is a request only, you have the freedom to post as you wish at AmKon but we hope that our members will understand our position.
This request is in effect as long as reciprocal Cooperation and Respect from ATS is not forthcoming.
Any threads from this time forward that have quoted content from ATS or it's members and you are unsure of whether attribution is warranted for any reason should be posted in the non-public forums.
Code: When quoting commentary from another user on a forum other than AmKon please use the [ quote ] tags. When posting information other than commentary please use the [ offsite ] tags.
A link to the content should also be supplied either before or after the quoted material.
If any members are unsure of how to use bb code to ensure correct attribution please contact any of the site Admin or for that matter any member, i'm sure there is no one in this community that would not offer assistance if asked.
I believe that in most instances we have always tried to comply with a policy of proper attribution to outside sources, the only instance of this policy not being enforced is due to one other site that we have ever had any connection with not allowing reciprocal linking.
In essence, nothing has changed, except that we now request that no content from ATS or links to their site should ever be posted in our public forums again until the spirit of Cooperation and Respect and reciprocal linking priviledges is provided by ATS.
This does not mean that you cannot post or comment your opinion of ATS or any other site, nor does it mean that you cannot post content that is readily available at other sites other than ATS nor does it mean that you cannot post content that is deemed to be covered under "Fair Use" guidelines.
If at anytime you are unsure please contact myself or any other admin for clarification or post your questions within this thread..
Thanks,
mojo.
(These guidelines may change at anytime, if changes are made to these guidelines a further post will be made to highlight the changes, they will not be surrepticiously snuck in through the back door.)
Edit to add......we do request that this banner is placed before or after any links to ATS, this is in response to all links being redirected by ATS.
use the following tags:
and wrap it around the content that was originally from ATS. The results will be:

thanks.
