The Guardian has obtained this police footage of Emily Apple and Val Swain being arrested by surveillance officers after asking for their badge numbers at the Kingsnorth climate camp last year. The two women speak to Paul Lewis about their arrest, imprisonment and official complaint

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/video/2009/jun/21/fit-watch-kingsnorth-arrests

These women are from FIT Watch, an org set up in response to Forward Intelligence Teams and their harrassment of legitimate protests. And as you will have seen from the vid, the piggies know who they are.

Look at the way these fuckers treat these women, body cuffed, hands around throat, pressure points... Seems these facist bacon motherfuckers doesn't like getting a taste of their own medicine.

Refused a lawyer as well, four days spent in custody. And I can't believe some Brits still think the system in this country is fucked up completely.

The other night I was walking down to the gas station to get some smokes(3am)
Very quite at that time here in INDY
Anyway I get about half-way down the street here in the metro area and a cop pulls up next to me with
his fucking girlfriend in the dad-gumm passenger seat
Doesnt even ask shit just tells me to put my hands on the hood
The whole time shes just laughing it up and Im starring right at here face
Then while he's patting me down he tells me my bodies to stiff and that I need to loosen up
That's when I asked what happened to "Innocent till proven guilty"
Then he pushed me down to my knees on the concrete (pretty fucking hard I might add),
told me to cross my calves and wait while he ran my ID
The whole time this bitch is getting a kick out of this
Then the son of a bitch just gets out, gives me my ID back and tells me to fuck off

The police are becoming above the Law,just like these Mothers in the U.K. unless caught on video and taken to court, otherwise i cannot tolerate injustice, these pigs have no moral conscience, fuck knows how they go on with their familys. powermad sides of Bacon, they all need cooking.

The police are becoming above the LawEliot Ness would disagree... So would the protesters in Lincoln Park or Century Plaza back in the 1960s. Do you think black people in Alabama saw much justice when no one was looking in 1950?

You have more recourse against bad police now than you have ever had in your entire life.

Is it that police are uncommonly corrupt or is it that your expectations are higher than have ever been evidenced in history?

Fact is, if every one were armed we wouldn't need the po-pos

I expect no police corruption, and wouldn't consider that to be a high expectation. That's the bare minimum that they should be meeting as standard.

Unless you get shot in a dark alley with no witnesses and die...

And you being armed wouldn't make certain that wouldn't happen.

wouldn't matter after that anyway, police don't investigate crimes they try to prevent them which is impossible

thank you

There was absolutely NO REASON for those women to be treated in that fashion by the cops.

Pressure points? WTF? Is this normal standard police procedure now? Pullling a Spock parylizing grip.

And what's up with wearing the gloves? I can understand medics and a cops putting them on for medical reasons, but 1/2 way through the clip, they take them off and continue to still touch the two women in the same manner as when they were wearing the gloves in the beginning of the clip.

I wonder if the women were on to something and the police stopped them in their tracks. Cops were probably trying to pull a S.W.A.T. mission of some sorts and the girls got in the way? Who knows.

What's the law in the U.K.? Is it an actual requirement of police to oblige civilians when asked to produce a 'badge number'?

Yes, crime prevention is impossible... But they do investigate crimes, however incompetently, it still occurs and a suggestion otherwise is fairly ridiculous and flies in the face of hundreds of years of history. Even if said investigation is inacted to stop someone reoffending.

I may be mistaken, but I'm fairly sure that they are unless something has changed.

police do nothing more than protect and serve. the only question being: who do they serve?

Some still do.

Then there's the rogue ones under someone else's supervision.

Cog, at the end of the day we live in 2009 and not in the 60's or elliot ness's day,and i expect the police to do the job and do it correctly,i have seen from my bedroom window bent cops, and over zealous bastards using more force than required to arrest citizens, and don't tell me i expext to much,a copper gets paid for a reason and that reason is to uphold the Law, not to break the fucker, now if thats making my expectations to high in 2009,you have got it wrong how you are thinking.
