Watching the posts roll in on amkon at peak times is like BBC News meets Comedy Central. Entertaining IMO... plus it IS rather theraputic to 'discuss' things here sometimes.

Will be even MORE entertaining when some more stories get approved over on the news site. Some wonderfully talented, twisted writers here.

There's that, for sure. It's also become a rather dysfunctional but loving/forgiving family. And 'thinking' is growing along with the (or because of) the reparte. Minds are swelling. That never required some sorts of 'research' parameters. It's all about an expanding sense of the absurd.

Because I have a high stress job I need an outlet. Being a nasshole has it's challenges, but to me it comes naturally. That's the way I feel about this place, it's a natural fit. I can drop in whenever I want, lay my shit out there and be gone in an instant. Instead of taking it out on my coworkers or my kid, I lay it on you fuckers, and because most of you are fellow Nassholes, you take it without prejudice.

pretty much as everyone has already said.
its one of the few places ive found where i can speak like i do in the real world, i can talk about shit that i cant with any of my other buds, i can sit here and get wasted for hours on end and the missus doesn't care, i can post shit, rant, laugh, freak out, annoy and generally have fun.
there have been occasions in the past when we've (admins) over reacted but were all learning how to manage a free spirited community unlike any others ive come across and for the most part we haven't had a lot of experience in this sort of shit.
i think the only member who has ever really deserved a ban was beaver and his/her bunch of moronic side kicks.
the times that kacen was banned were warranted as cooling off periods but the door as always was left open. i think the time lex was banned was an error on our part but a necesary part of our learning, and it's kudo's to lex for returning to the fold without any baggage over that.
when all's said and done its the people who come here day after day and share their thoughts and opinions with the rest of us that keep me coming back.
it strikes me as an interesting side effect of a forum that really allows (99% fat free) free speech the type of people that entices to the forum. it's a beautiful thing to see a couple of members going at it hammer and tongs in one thread and laughing and joking with each other in another thread, you pretty much don't see that level of respect in any other CT forum ive ever been to.

finally, as Ima said, i could quite easily imagine sitting down with anyone of you guy's and gals and sharing a beer or two.

The shit that the Beaver laid on John Lear made me want to kill her but I'd have never banned her- not even for her continual blather about the unspeakable plans she had for my balls. It seems that almost all the bannings and threats of bannings were the work of the crab ladies and their knotted panties. Lex's ban was particularly offensive since all he did to earn it was to make a couple of 'insensitive'- and accurate- remarks to Boon. (As I recall, Ducky gleefully joined in the Lex lynching too.) Jesus, if that's the standard we're all condemned to the void. But it's undeniable that the site has grown in tolerance since those times. 'Pushing the envelope' no longer applies since we've all been forced to admit that there is no envelope. It's really a shame that this record of growth is forever gone- but it lives on in our historic memory banks. And we need to be continually dredging it up and throwing it in one-another's faces lest we forget from whence we came. As Julia Child pointed out, "A proper stew must be vigilantly stirred."

It all started with a response by her to a post by KIWI as I recall. She just lost it and went off on him. Anyway- I think she's mentally disturbed and so I'm done with her.
