Every time we tune into the news, we hear about some country acting up. Whether it be China, Korea, Iran, Israel, Pakistan.... Oh yeah, and don't forget Georgia last year. They all have their reasons whether it be religious or economic and the stakes are higher than ever before because of the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

I ask amkoids: Are we witnessing the build up to a global war, another "realignment of power" or is it a distraction from the economic crisis?

One of my history classes told me that all wars are started for economic gain. While a political science class told me most wars were for keeping the masses distracted from the government. Either way, I'm sure it's a mix of the two.

One thing is certain, with war:

1. People have jobs (kill your neighbor).
2. More wealth to go around if your side wins (less neighbors to compete with).
3. Loans, loans, and loans with interest for big bankers.
4. More future holidays and more distractions for the masses.

War and the final card when the economy crash and burns. And a perfect time for countries to rise in power.

Iran is a CIA project.

Twitter is full of spooks from both sides.

The videos on LiveLeak are out of time and context.

We are being manipulated.

When we see the oppressed people in action (real action) then we will know it's real. Moaning and groaning doesn't cut it. Look at the US. When people go to the palace and drag out the ruler that's the real people acting. So most of this is pot stirring hoping to spark a fire.

When people go to the palace and drag out the ruler that's the real people acting. The last thing the world needs are new Robespierres. What we're seeing in Iran is the expression of hope rather than hate. The people realize that they invited in the devil to eliminate the Shah. They don't want to make the same mistake again. That's the reason that this uprising is essentially non-ideological. This is by no means the culmination of some imaginary evil CIA operation- despite the facile and cynical opinions to the contrary. It's an authentic reaction to oppression at the hands of a religious kleptocracy.

Good. Let people sit around hoping and asking corrupt and evil leaders for change. What the chance of that change happening when it robs the fat cat leaders of their fame and fortune.

Good. Let people sit around hoping and asking corrupt and evil leaders for change. What the chance of that change happening when it robs the fat cat leaders of their fame and fortune.'Sitting around and hoping?' We must be watching a different play. That the uprising is mostly non-violent in no way means that the people are 'asking' rather than demanding. To my mind it indicates a reluctance to engage oppression with the instruments of oppression. The situation is fluid and may yet be co-opted by less peaceful elements. Either way I think the mullahs will eventually be thrown out on their fat asses.

Yes, the ideals, if they work, would be great and would seen a good message to the world. I'll put my bet on it won't happen in that way. Really wish it could. No one in power will fear words unless they know they will be backed up with something more. Guess we can all dream one more.

The point is that it's not just 'words.' It's a million people in the streets as well. It's the support of progressives and humanists all over the world. A clear cut result would be satisfying and we may not get that. But the Islamic Republic will be forever changed by these events- and I think for the better. Have you noticed that Rafsanjani's wife has been arrested by the RG? This represents a critical crack in the edifice. It's not that Rafsanjani is a moderate- but he's a realist. Realism wouldn't be a bad result.

This is why I don't pay attention to the media. It's all contrived to shape your opinion. At least when reading books, you have peace of mind enough to xonsciously takje in the details. With television, it's like a sensory explosion in your head. It's literally traumatizing your senses into belief. I can't watch 5 minutes of any sort of TV without sensory indigestion. Cursed box from Corporate Hell. Trust me, Corporate Hell is like riding the Small Small World ride on PCP for eternity.

Now of course... you can say "Nobody shapes my opinion" all you want. It's true that actually nobody shapes your opinion except you, but your willingness to either accept or deny this contrived opinion as yours can be overridden. If you watch enough TV, it's almlost unavoidable that your opinions will be overridden. It's called hypnotization. Also, during this state of hypnotization, your subconscious is more open to subtle unconscious pattern recognition (remember that everything is a pattern). So, your subconscious can actually form your opinions from pieces of unconscious input which you would not be aware of until the opinion presented itself.

Television and other similar media have severely altered our perception of reality. No longer is reality a question when the consensus world view is pumped into your brain in a neverending loop... 5000 channels and NOTHING is ever on. Why? Because you have information indigestion. Thank high technology, exhausting your imagination and wonder for you, and all before the ripe old age of 16.

Dude I swear to God.... my theory is proven every day. Just look at all those creepy people out there who literally HAVE NO PERSONALITY! I'm telling you, modern media is short circuiting the imagination of the world. Turning us into simple computers/betteries.

Was that Kiwi who suggested Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars?

If every relatively intelligent person in the world were to read that first chapter in William Cooper's book today, there would be revolution with weeks. That article makes way too much sense to be anytrhing except a no holds barred overview of the layout of the socio-economic machine.

I did not click on the link, because this is why. That was the first chapter I studied with anything involving CT. That chapter is burned into my skull already...

Great Book. Behold a Pale Horse. I hold that first chapter as truth.
