So, lex shows me this link to an ARG that is being discussed on GLP... and I check it out... (I'm an ARG addict btw)

well... after watching their thread for days... they believe the whole thing is for real... and call anyone who dare tell them that its an ARG a shill...

so... I posted this:


Ok, I've been watching for two days now... Its been fun...

But this is an ARG... I know you guys think the people who started this ARG would be put in prison for some terror related charge... but as someone pointed out, Trent Reznor with NIN did something very similar with his Year Zero release a few years back...

Year zero was pretty serious... Fake Swat Teams... Voice mail messages from night clubs where people were being slaughtered. The idea was that you were a member of a resistance movement, ducking and dodging the authorities while trying to bring down the government. This wasn't 100% on the web... there were real life murals popping up in cities (paid for by the band), secret meetings and the whole likes... they even handed out kits with fliers and materials needed for graffiti... (I still have my kit... and I use the black ammo can it came in to hold my ammo :P)

Someone has already claimed credit for this... its all an ARG...

I know I'll see comments to the effect that I am a shill... which I am most definitly not... (Note, I'm using the name I typically use while posting on other CT forums).

Besides... think of the time and effort it would take to set all this up. Would an insider who had a limited window to get this information out there, have enough time to be constantly updating a website? jackblack12.info seems to be updated every couple of hours or so.

Would a true insider with knowledge of something that is going to happen two days from now, be sitting in front of a computer... slowly giving more and more clues? or would they anonymously dump the material somewhere (perhaps the web) once... and be done with it... remember, each time this "user" accesses the site to modify, their odds of being discovered would increase...

You are looking at a professional staff of people... there is no way 1 person could put all this stuff together... not even if they were complete insomniacs...

Lets try to apply a little logic here, maybe use a little bit of occam's razor...

Its an ARG... ARG's are DESIGNED to make people feel like they are living in an alternative Reality (hence the name). You guys have been sucked in good... ARG's are highly addicting... and you probably won't be able to stop following blackjack until its over (speaking from experience again), but at least have the common sense to know you are simply playing a game...

i think i posted on another thread somewhere...GLP and ATS are like the two different spectrums of CT forums in regards to rules, posting etiquette, decorum and so on, ones a clusterfuck and the others a kindergarten with nanny's.
but what they both have in common is a degenerative decrease in quality and intelligent posts.
the crux of that is the continued perception of society and the media in general of conspiracy Theorists as a bunch of nutcases or bored kids.
neither GLP or ATS actually do any good at all for the conspiracy community, and in fact do a lot of damage.

There is not some sinister agenda with Blackjack. It's a piece of fiction. A group of us came up with the idea after seeing that Fallout 3 graphic of DC after a nuclear attack. It was just going to be London but then expanded from there. Nobody told us to do this nor did some secret agent sidle up to us and suggest it.

I'm happy to answer any questions anybody has about Blackjack. For the record, there is some inspiration from Jericho (a great show which is much missed) and, yes, some of us are concerned about the authoritarian tendencies of western governments.
