Isn't a gay republican kind of an oxymoron? I guess not...My girlfriend's best friend from college is a homosexual and a "conservative" republican. So is his gay jewish boyfriend.

I wonder if this is more about where they're from (Long Island, NY) and less about them being social outcasts. The Jewish culture of New York/New Jersey tends to be extremely conservative and one of those groups of people that "sticks to their own kind". Its rather disgusting.

How a gay man could be sucked into this I don't know, but I guess you do a lot for "love".

Can anyone help explain this paradox for me cuz I don't fucking get it?

That is quite odd since most conservatives are homophobes. Maybe he's at odds with his sexuality, or perhaps he's just an effeminate hetrosexual? At any rate, I've got five bucks that says your girlfriend banged him in college. My guess is she thought she could convert him, or perhaps the whole reason you're so mad over this is maybe she converted you? Just sayin!

Here's a test for you Skunk... When your girlfriend's best friend from college comes for a visit, and you're in the room alone with him, do you ever feel like...

...Wait for it...

Being Republican means you belong to a political party.

Being conservative is a political ideology.

There are conservative democrats... and there are liberal republicans...

You don't have to agree with 100% of a Political parties' platform to be a member of the political party...

Look at Ron Paul... He joined the Republican Party... but his views are more in line with the Libertarian platform.

The Jewish culture of New York/New Jersey tends to be extremely conservative just the opposite is true. they are the founders and the leaders of modern liberalism. in no way do they 'stick to their own kind.'

yah, seemingly contradictory in nature...

however, not really so...

They're about the jewish faith admitting jesus as the messiah... all while preserving the jewish tradition and culture...

Oxymoron on the surface... but just below the surface, it doesn't seem so wierd.

Asshole, he is about as flamboyantly homosexual as you can be. I was convinced he was the gayest dude in the world until I met his boyfriend. Wow.

I should have been a bit more specific in my original post. Being gay seems to be contradictory to being republican. Nasshole seems to be the only person who got it, being a homophobe after all (I still love you anyway). The republican base for the most part despises homosexuality, behind closed doors or not, and do not want to allow gays to marry. How can someone who is gay want to join these hateful bigots on the ticket is beyond my understanding.

Well I guess you're not very familiar with the culture then.

It's hard to believe anybody could be gayer than Barney Frank. What do you make of all the homosexual pedophiles in modern day politics? And has history been any different? Historically speaking, have there always been the same ratio of gay to hetro politicians?

I thought you grew up in Worchester? And then caught a worm hole to Atherton? And when the war broke out I thought you went to (hid out in) Canada?

These dudes make Barney Frank look like Ron Jeremy.

If you look at places like Greece/Persia, there has been a history of "bisexual" men in politics, but openly gay? I don't know. Up until fairly recently, openly gay men were lynched on sight (still are). Pretty fucking sad.

Historically speaking, have there always been the same ratio of gay to hetro politicians?

What do you define as "gay" politicians? I am convinced a majority of the republican "family values" candidates are fans of double sided jet black dildos, behind closed doors of course. The kind that likes to tap their foot in a men's bath house/restroom and take a ride through the glory hole.

Or the kind that preaches in church about how jesus hates gays, then smokes meth with a gay prostitute.

"Family values" must be synonymous with homosexual drug-fueled orgies.
