A friend of mine has been running this non profit for several years in which they provide cheap and nutritious food for starving children in Tanzania. The company is called Industrial Revelation http://industrialrevelation.org/ir_home.html and could use some (any) support that people can provide.
The product they distribute is called plumpy-nut http://www.plumpynut.com/. It costs nearly nothing to make and distribute, but is very healthy. If you have time, please take a look at the site and see if you can do anything to help. I know times are tough, but any help will do.
Thanks
Ras

Not saying it's a bad thing,
but what about those homeless
and starving here in the US ?
I'm all for helping people, it's
a noble thing to do; but I think
we need to take care of our own,
first.
Just my 2 cent,
Lex

The homeless in the US aren't starving. They're hungry (compared to the standard fat American) but not starving. There is plenty of food to be had, if they looked. However, in sub saharan Africa, it's just not there, no matter how hard you look.

Not likely.
Your mate?
No.
No way.
Funny how you reappear, ask for shit and slag off Ducky.
Crawl back to whence you came.
Here's your sign.
Unimpressed.

I think Sam Kinison said it best, there wouldn't be world hunger if people just lived where the food is.

If this is a legitimate nonprofit, I think its great. In the long run, we need to "teach them to fish" versus giving them the fish. I hope they can save a few lives along the way though.
i have a real issue with most charities, anyone tin canning on my front door better be able to tell me exactly how many cents in the dollar actually make it to the intended targets or i'll kick them off the porch.
i really only donate to charities i'm personally involved in because i know where the cash is going.
my mate and his wife and a bunch of us friends raised about 700 bucks for autism SA a coup[le of weeks ago, i'll contribute to charities that my work is involved in because we have done due diligence on them and my wife and i regularly donate to the womens and childrens hospital because we have had a fair bit to do with them over the years.

I feel pretty much the same way. I'm managing the IT infrastructure of this company pro bono. She's just now opening a real office. Before this, she was running this company out of her house using a laptop and a cell phone. However, with some assistance from friends and donations, she was able to assist in building a plumpynut factory in Tanzania, operated by locals.
Hell of a job getting companies to donate laptops and old servers to a non profit without them asking for cash.

Fuck off you cum guzzling pile of shit. I'm asking you to help the less fortunate. If you don't want to, that's fine. But if you're doing it to teach me a lesson, then you really need to examine your priorities. Eat shit and die.

I'm asking you to help the less fortunate.I guess that's out of style nowadays.

it's actually more in vogue than it was 40 years ago.

a bit less 'vogue' and lot more commitment would be good.
