i wonder how many gallons of oil or tons of coal it requires to create enough electricity to charge an electric car. probably a lot more than get's burned in an internal combustion type car per mile driven. the difference is that the pollution is out there instead of over here. oh well...

Actually, if ya read his "how to" section... he pays a premium for his electricity to come from "Green" sources...
I've never heard of this... but apparently he knows his electricity has a low carbon footprint.

Ya know...Ive always wondered the same. I know that this particular guy uses "green" (or that labeled as such) energy, but what about all the other owners of electric cars? Is this just a shift in who produces the energy, or is it actually saving energy? Well actually, there would be no energy saved, as the car would have to be more mechanically efficient, using less joules of energy to move the car. This is something that Ive understood to be a waste of time and another corporate ally. Most "green materials" aren't any more enviromentally friendly then other products. In alot of cases they are worse. Yea...its good to recycle, but if it costs more to recycle it and repackage, the companies that do so will have to charge more. This, overall, actually makes "going green" less efficient then just scraping the whole archaic machine.
I've always wondered, how much "green power" is being paid for verses how much is actually produced. Personally I think it is a scam.
