This is a speech by Ron Paul, when I'm not sure, but the author of the video has added text to it. The music in the background is a bit distracting, but this video strikes at the heart of our problems with the economy, "terrorism", and our lack of freedoms as a result of laws like the patriot act 1 & 2 and the homegrown terrorism prevention act.

I may not agree with everything this man says, but he sure hit the nail right on the head with this speech.

Nice find!

"What if..."

Everyone awakens to the truth?

How can war be waged, and won, against the special interests?

What if everyone was blessed with common sense?

Wait.... doesn't common sense mean that we all have the sense of right and wrong inherent and in common within us? I think the question... and this is mostly rhetorical in nature.... is this:

What fucks up common sense?

Because people don't want REAL change... they just want to use change as a meaningless buzzword...

Why bother? They're comfortable drinking 5 dollar soy lattes from their gas guzzling SUV's...

The economic trouble has really only hit about 10-20% of the people so far... By that, I mean REALLY affected... not "oh shit, I can't afford to buy this new iphone and still afford my morgage", but really hit... as in no job, no house, living off the generosity of others...

WHen that number gets bigger, maybe people will wake up... but I really doubt it... The economy is getting bad, so people start shopping at Wal-Mart...

Taking money from the poor to line the pockets of corporate america... The only way to reverse the cycle is to buy locally produced goods from locally owned businesses...

Good luck convincing the brainwashed masses into doing that... Hell, Deaman thought that McDonalds was a nessesity...

The success of the advocation of passive consumerism through modern PR techniques is absolutely nothing short of amazing.

I was being ironic. Sarcastic.

My point being specifically that if you're going to preach change and draw attention to actual real issues, as he does in the above speech, then the likelyhood of being nominated to run for president is extremely slim.
