graham72

a blurry picture of a bit of mars, stand back a couple of feet and go boz-eyed and your'll see it. If you see a knight on a horse your looking at it wrong. Ps its not a dolphin either

Ok Graham...what are we looking at?
Few questions:
1. Where is this pic?
2. Why is this pic so important?
This one's going to be a bit hard to decifer.

A3 was a TV show.
I liked Babylon 5.
Does that mean that Jesus was a Vorlon?

only a bit of fun guys and gals. I googled mars base and found that image. I honestly dont know where it is from on mars or how authentic.
Silly post anyway, I only did it to get Lex going, he stated in ducky last post that a post on Alternative 3 would top him or words to that extent.
but please feel free to continue if you like, see where it goes

Heh.
On your "city" pic, they
spelled MARS wrong.
Yeah.....

PS : The second is more
believable. But not by much.

As long as you didn't say "Canucks Go Home"...I'm happy with that :D lolol
Now with regards to the Mars pic you posted (before the 'yanks go home' one), this ONE has always facinated me.
Even with all the colored pixilations (that show up from any puter manipulation), I still wonder why this pic was originally BLURRED OUT?!?!
Reminds me of the the movie: 'Contact' (Jodie Foster).
There was a scene at the end where James Woods was conversing with someone on the length of film that was running (18 hours worth?) even though Jodie Foster had been recorded to fall through the 'alien contraption' within a mere few seconds. How can that be?
In any event...
It behooves me to think that our space agencies are so BLATENT when they SMUDGE out possibly verifiable info in these....pffffftt....so-called High Definition pics that they allot to the public.
Disgusts me to no end.

Guess that's the difference between
believers and sceptics.
You'll believe whatever you're shown.
I apply common sense.
Nothing personal, Ducks....just how
I see the difference.

Anyone can screw up an image to make it look like what they want.
It doesn't mean that it was a correct analysis. Notice how folks never post the method by which they analyzed the photos to get those results.
Someone who might actually know what they are doing might come along and call bullshit for what it is...

And, I agree 100%.
Just not as sentients, that near.
Hell, I view most Earthers as barely
sentient.
Sad, but true.

Just curious about something here Cog...
What would your analysis entail about that pic anyway?
You're a smart gent. Was wondering what was going on in your mind everytime you see that pic?

That image is a false-color composite overlayed on top of a 256-shade grayscale heightmap built from radio telemetry. That is in no way, shape, or form anything close to what the naked eye would see. It's no better than a computer generated terrain in Halo using real-life information.
There's about 8 different places in that process from gathering the data, to transmission to earth, to extrapolation where such errors could occur.
What most folks fail to mention is that there are several such data corruption spots throughout the Mars Express catalog as well as many, many other missions.
Here's another example of the same effect, this time in Cydonia in the original Viking images.

If you take the Mars Express images and compare them... guess what happens...
