What a yahoo. Its rather unfortunate we even have to argue about the Palestinians right to exist. I would even back down on my stance of having Israel dismantled if [Israel] pulls out of the Golan Heights, the West Bank, etc. and ends their blockade on the Gaza Strip. I hope we can see a peaceful result to this conflict in the near future. However, it seems Netanyahu wants to defeat Hamas, even if they happen to be a democratically elected government.

[offsite:2yrmofvg]Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will refuse on his trip to Washington to back the formation of a Palestinian state, an MP close to the premier said on Saturday, according to national radio.

Netanyahu "will not make a commitment to Washington on the creation of a Palestinian state which would undoubtedly become a 'Hamastan'," Ophir Akunis from Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party was quoted as saying, referring to the Islamic movement Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip and favours armed struggle against Israel.

The hawkish prime minister is scheduled to arrive in Washington on Sunday ahead of his maiden meeting with US President Barack Obama since the two men took office this year.

The key meeting takes place against a backdrop of disagreements over the Middle East conflict and how to deal with Iran's nuclear programme.

While Netanyahu has repeatedly refused to endorse the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state, Obama is insisting on a "two-state solution" to solve the Israeli-Palestinian crisis."

Obama also wants the new Israeli government to halt new building work in Jewish settlements on the occupied West Bank but Netanyahu has said he wants to expand existing settlements.

The Israeli premier has pledged to unveil his policy for regional peace at the White House meeting, focussed on countering Iran.

Contents are still secret but one Netanyahu aide told AFP that differences between Israel and the United States are "more on the outside" and "Israel does not want to rule the Palestinians" despite Netanyahu's refusal to back a Palestinian state.[/offsite:2yrmofvg]

Honestly at this point I do believe Israel and Palestine should exist together. We have bigger problems in the world than to be fighting amongst ourselves.

Two state solution is stupid. A two state solution certainly didn't help Pakistan and India. Now they are both nuclear powers. Fantastic!

Hamas are power-hungry, violent, asshats hoping to wrap themselves in the same white cloak that Arafat managed to squeeze on his fat, ruthless ass. They train children to kill people. Who cares if they were elected? Perhaps that says more about the desperation the people feel as opposed to their political beliefs.

Netanyahu should shut the fuck up and die. He was a part of the same regime and generation that instituted this bullshit oppression in the first place. Who really thought that he was going to go against that?

They are both a bunch of violent, mentally damaged fucks sitting on top of religious icons important to 3 billion people. If it weren't for the death-god cannibals... read "American Prostestants"... fucking with those people for the past 50 years in an attempt to bring about the ressurrection of their slain god the world might be a safer place.

Cog, you make great points. How do you suggest this problem be solved? Make the whole region a giant parking lot for AmeriKa's military?

Leave them the hell alone to live their lives and solve their own problems.

The British started this problem by trying to be "helpful" nearly 100 years ago.

The brothers have been fighting ever since.
