A flurry of UFO sightings was troubling the spooks at the Ministry of Defence.
Hundreds had been reported, by everyone from RAF pilots over Scotland to a woman walking her dog in Norfolk.
But it wasn't the threat of an alien invasion that tormented defence officials during this period of overhead hyperactivity at the end of the 1980s.

Watch the change in the images from the top of the article to the bottom. It goes, literally, from in-service military aircraft and possible diagrams thereof to that stupid picture at the bottom from Obama's inauguration.
It's a fucking bird. Don't make me debunk it.

The Mail is filling up further with bullshit every day. That article makes one wonder when we'll start seeing tits on page 3.

It further validates the reliability of eye witness Unidentified Flying Object testimony. Looks like we can't simply laugh off the observers as kooks anymore.

... and combined with legit unexplained phenomena such as the wind farm impact and the Scottish incident.
Towards the bottom the images are nothing more than clouds, Bill Meier-style hoaxes, and CCD distortions of airplane lights... Most of which have long since been debunked or explained.
It's this method of combining fact and fiction that continuously encourages people to think that there is a definite disinformaiton campaign to keep UFO research on the fringe. It's an example of attempting to seriously address the issue while simultaneously consigning it to the realm of the ridiculous.

Of course.
Confirmation of the existence of not only intelligent extra-terrestrial life, not to mention greatly more advanced technologically extra-terrestrial life would be a massive blow to the human ego.
And we gotta at least pretend we are the bestest.

Half hearted/baked explaination at best.True. It's the discredited method of Phil Klass, Donald Menzel and Arthur Condon. This sort of dismissal is nothing more than the continuation of the recommendations of the CIA Robertson Panel from 1952. When skepticism devolves into pro-active debunkery it becomes nothing less than a self contradiction. The proper attitude of the true skeptic is to consider everything while believing nothing.

The pentagon exists as a way to inject taxpayer dollars into corporate America without the citizenry getting upset about it...
Built by the lowest bidder isn't accurate anymore... its now built by the company who can hire the best most expensive lobbyists and donate huge sums of money to election campaigns...

no- free to resist the brackets. free to spit in the face of your jailer.
pack3tg0st
05-13-2009, 09:41 AM
yah, you can always resist...
but total freedom will only come when the people realize they're being fucked, and resist as a society...
But thats even difficult... so much work goes into keeping the average citizen atomized from others...
As long as they can keep us fairly isolated or make us feel like we're isolated, we lose.

Here's a question for ya BE, maybe you'll have some sort of answer...
What has our society lost since the 60's? In the 60's, the average citizen felt like they could make a difference. They protested wars and unequal treatment pretty successfully. They made a difference in their world, and pretty much told "the man" to shove it up his ass....
What happened that caused our society to lose that feeling of power and unity? In the last several decades, more and more people feel like they are just pawns... and that their vote doesn't matter...
They feel powerless to stop a juggernaut. They don't realize that in the 60's, the people knocked the juggernaut on its ass and told the government what they're going to fix...

Maybe our society is too far gone...
There should be people in the streets over the mere THOUGHT that our government supported torture programs...

OK. Aside from selfish self preservation there was also a great feeling of altruism. great feelings of love. Che said: "Let me just say, at the risk of seeming ridiculous, that the true Revolutionary is motivated by great feelings of love."
