11:14am: The Dow is above 8,000 for the first time since February after a key accounting rule that impacts banks is set to change.
Now seriously... I don't understand how this is a good thing... Nothing has changed except for the government handing out barrels full of money. Unemployment is still high, people are still getting laid off... GM is going to go bankrupt. There's no reason for this to be a good thing... It means our market hasn't found true value yet, and will drop, yet again...
It has crossed my mind though.... by pumping trillions of shiney, newly printed money into the system, It would have lowered to value of the USD...
Are these stocks higher because the dollar is worth less? Or is this just the elite getting excited that the government is going to give them free money?
