At what point did this simple phrase come to mean "nut jobs or crazies who believe that any and everything was planned and carried out by a dark and evil force in the hopes of totally ass raping the human race"?

I think the notion that "conspiracy theories" are the product of deranged minds was started up in the aftermath of John Kennedy's assassination; at least in terms of how many uninformed people now define "conspiracy theory" in the modern era.

Considering that a lot of CTers are of the "hilary is a reptilian" variety, it's no wonder CT has a bad rap.

I mean, really; look at some of the thread quality at the "top" CT site.

While the meat and potatoes, serious threads have good points and have truth in them, those threads aren't as common as "D00d! Ima Indigo."

Lowest common denominator is always the largest base, and usually the most vocal.

Most vocal? Agree 100%.
Largest base? Not a chance.

There are loads of "CTers" out there who keep their mouth shut and their fingers still so as to avoid being lumped in with the morons who spout off about the reptilian eyes in blurry youtube vids and a nigga called indigo.

It has been my experience that the skeptics are the total majority.

Referring to some conspiracy related sites.......however........I can agree that the "tinfoil hatter idjits" are the vocal majority. But I still insist that they are NOT the base majority.
