Hello! Glad to be here and I've been fasting to kick start a diet. It's day 3 and I've lost 5 lbs already! I'm planning on sticking with this for another 12 more days but I'm going to need YOUR support on this! :D (only kidding)

I'm also currently on a 72 hr. ban from ATS and even though I'm a little embarrassed about this, and a little sorry about it too, my little outburst was a long time coming and I just couldn't stop myself from telling one particular member off whom I have had serious issues with for over a year now. Nevertheless, let's just say that Springer was NOT amused and quite frankly, I don't blame him.

I'm female (note to Jasn: email address name I used here when I signed up says otherwise but "maverickman" sounds better than "maverickwoman" hence why I used that "nom de plume" for that yahoo email address when I reg. for it).

Anyway, it's great being here and also seeing a few familiar faces too!

PS -- hmmmm, --- a built in editor huh??

hello and welcome, Slim!

I don't know if we know each other or not -- I don't know if this is your username from the other site. I was MajorMalfunction over there. Got a promotion. :P

You'll find this place much more laid back, cursing is OK, derailing threads in off-topic is fine. You can even one-line post.

If you need anything, PM me or one of the other staff. Custom title, help with forums, whatever.

Watch your back; members from A T S who join here are frequently banned just for associating with us, so if "Slim" isn't your name over there, maybe you shouldn't tell us what it is.

A water Fast? isnt that dangerous, dehydration damages the brain.

Try a food fast by all means or better still exercise and cut down the food, that will do it. Use up more calories than you eat

I think she means all she's taking in is water, nothing else.

Day 3 without water, she wouldn't be this lucid. LOL

Hi Gunner!
Just want to say also that I'm really getting a kick out of looking at the avatar's in this forum. Lol, very entertaining!

Did somebody say they liked the avvys? LOL

I'm learning GIMP and have done several of the ones you're seeing, but you may not be referring to those. My head, it swells. LOL

If you want an avvy and don't want to do it yourself, PM me what you'd like yours to include and I'll work on it over the next couple days. Yet another perk offered by the friendly, inebriated AmKon staff.

Well, actually, I'm cheating a little because I'm also drinking black coffee just to stay ALERT.

I'm on something called the Lemonade diet.
Here's the recipe:
water
cayenne pepper
lemon juice
Grade B maple syrup.
I'm drinking 10 glasses of this stuff a day.

Some call it the maple syrup diet too.

But whatever it's called.. let me tell you! -- it's BRUTAL!

Oh ... gah. I think I'd rather drink the bongwater.

I think your avvy is hilarious GN! I'm going to try my hand at it and see what I come up with but thanks for the offer!

Yea, it's pretty nasty stuff but there's supposed to be magic in that combo to help cleanse out ones system. So it's a 2 shot deal... an internal cleanser and a pound dropper.

Hello. Welcome. Make sure you do aerobics, too. Losing weight without gaining muscle mass or flexibility is.. I dunno.. a waste, I think. But then exercise is a sort of a trap... because...

Irregular Exercise Pattern May Add Pounds (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/02/080204094505.htm)

...which I can confirm through my own tests.

Damnit! I have to do another 40 push-ups today.

Thanks for the welcome Foxtrot!

I'm just looking forward to having a flat tummy again. Really would like to get down to size 8 -- right now I'm at size 14 and this is not good, not good at all!

That's interesting! I didn't know that irregular exercise adds pounds instead of the other way around! Thanks for that link on that!

I walk everyday but hope to graduate to a slow jog when I drop 10 more lbs. My knee's give out when ever I jump up and down doing aerobics because I'm carrying more weight than I should be right now.

The trick to keeping the weight off after doing a water fast is... uh, oh ... I need to google that one up but this is my main concern.

On my last diet, I lost 20 lbs but I gained it all back again.. and more. But I'm the first one to admit that I simply went back to the way I was eating before I started that diet. This time round I'm not going to do that.

So am planning on sticking to fruits and veggies only and some cans of sardines in water a few times a week for protein or broiled chicken. I'm really super determined about this because I'm a real fashion freak... I love shopping for clothes but now at size 14, everything is looking rather ridiculous on me and this is really depressing!

Best cure for this is to stay naked.
Works for me.
Pics are a neccesity though.

Here is a better joke.......

Jane was a first time contestant on the $65,000 quiz show. Lady luck had smiled in her favor, as Jane had a gained a substantial lead over her opponents. She even managed to win the game but, unfortunately, time had run out before the show's host could ask her the big question. Jane agreed to return the following day. Jane was nervous as her husband drove them home. "I've just gotta win tomorrow. I wish I knew what the answer might be! You know I'm not going to sleep at all tonight. I will probably look like garbage tomorrow."
"Relax honey," her husband, Roger, reassured her, "It will all be OK."
Ten minutes after they arrived home, Roger grabbed the car keys and started heading out the door. "Where are you going?" Jane asked.
"I have a little errand to run. I should be back soon." After an agonizing three hour absence, Roger returned, sporting a very wide and wicked grin. "Honey, I managed to get tomorrow's question and answer!"
"What is it?" she cried excitedly.
"OK. The question is: What are the three main parts of the male anatomy? And the answer is: The head, the heart, and the penis." The couple went to sleep with Jane, now feeling at ease, plummeting into a deep slumber. At 3:30 a.m., however, Jane was shaken awake by Roger, who was asking her the quiz show question. "The head, the heart, and the penis," Jane replied groggily before returning to sleep. And Roger asked her again in the morning, this time as Jane was brushing her teeth. Once again, Jane replied correctly. So it was that Jane was once again on the set of the quiz show. Even though she knew the question and answer, she could feel butterflies in her stomach. The cameras began running and the host, after reminding the audience of the previous days' events, faced Jane and asked the big question: "Jane, for $65,000, what are the main parts of the male anatomy? You have 10 seconds."
"Hmm, uhm, the head?" she said nervously.
"Very good. Six seconds."
"Eh, uh, the heart?"
"Very good! Four seconds."
"I, uhh, ooooooohh, darn! My husband drilled it into me last night and I had it on the tip of my tongue this morning..."
"That's close enough!" said the game show host, "CONGRATULATIONS--YOU WIN!!"

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful suggestion on this mojo
but, I'm not sure about the "pics are a necessity" part though -- but if I can get the support I need to get through this 14 day fast I may want to send some "after" (as opposed to "before" pics of me as a gesture of appreciation for that support.

Hi goos! Thanks for your diet tip and I can tell just by looking at your avvy that you most likely are in fact eating CRAP.

I tried that diet, I could go about 10 days, then I would hit the wall.

The best diet? The "learn to fly, then crash land in the middle of nowhere and not get found for three months" diet.

Wow! So you've tried out the Lemonade Diet? That's great! Just wondering but how many pounds did you lose? I guess it all depends on how much one weighs at the beginning where the heavier you are, the more weight you lose in the beginning of any diet but did you lose any weight on it?

Success stories are always inspiring to me! :)
