Anyone talking smack will be dealt with severely (GN will be sic'd on you LOL). This is just a log for me. Don't feel like starting a blog since I barely got enough time to get on the puter as it is.
Goal:
Need to lose 35 pounds.
6/05
Ordered low carb foods online. Be here in 2-3 days. D-Day starts when the box arrives. Got my shopping list ready for fresh foods.
Signed up for 24 hour gym thingy. Can't think of the whole name atm.

I've lost like 15 pounds over this nausea thing. You're welcome to whatever it is that's got me puking. :(

Thanks Boon!
I think you need a Rx for it. There are anti-nausea suppositories on the market.

I got my marinol. The thing is ... if you're nauseated and puking once in a while, taking a pill isn't the most effective thing.
And no, I'm not taking any suppositories.
Back to the thread, I didn't mean to derail this one.
Yet. :P

Mistake number 1: Don't go "anti-carb". Sure, you might lose some lbs pretty quick....but....chances are you will put them back on plus 10 or so after you stop the low carb diet. Not to mention that your energy will likely be in the toilet if you are accustomed to a high carb diet.
Instead, try spacing out REGULAR meals to 6 smaller portions per day with some sensible snacking kept to a minimum.
If you drink much soda, STOP. If you are a heavy soda drinker, you will likely drop the 35lbs in no time just coming off the soda and switching to water or nonsweet tea/coffee(black).
If you are drinking diet soda...STOP. Sometimes us conspiracy nuts are too far off. Aspartame shoots holes in your brain and drinking salt water with aspartame is doubly bad. The diet sodas (especially those WITH caffeine) will make you retain water.
Overall, it's a good idea to not go on a "diet".
Don't set goals as you are likely to obsess over them and that will likely cause them to be counterproductive.
Instead, thinking of somethings you can do (and keep doing) to help lose the weight and keep it off.
Do the six smaller meals per day combined with plenty of water intake and almost zero soda (diet or regular) intake per day. Also, try to increase your daily activity. You don't have to "workout" or "exercise" to burn calories.
Run around with the kids (or after them) a bit more each day. Just as good (if not better) than a treadmill.

Im not going anti-carb, it's low carb. I'm not doing it full fledged no carbs, cause I would go bonkers. I've cut all sodas, don't like any diet ones to begin with. I drink a bunch of water already. So I'm good with that. I usually put a lemon/lime wedge in my water, yum.
Kids come home too late in the day for me to want to run around. There's homework etc to get done once they are home. I can go to the gym when they are in school, works for me. Plus hubby has a membership there already, so it might be a good thing to go with him.
i can snack during this. So it's not like I need to only pick a certain time for eating. I got a low carb cookbook and a list of foods. I got breads, pastas and pancake mix coming to my door! lol I'm good to go.
As for the goal, it's something I have to do. I might talk about it later, but not right now.

I'm all for the goal. Just don't make it a "goal".
Put it at the back of your mind that way it doesn't become a brick wall that you can't climb.
Also, if you own a scale...stay the fuck away from it.....scales are your enemy.
Use the one at the gym (the counterbalance if they have one)...but use it only about once every 2 weeks.
Oh yea.....remember...if you put on a bit of muscle (a good thing...muscle digs calories), you will gain a bit of weight. This is not a bad thing.
Best of luck to ya chica!
I'm picking up my dog, my elliptical and my free weights tomorrow.
Yes, the dog will be "exercise" as well haha.
Wanna compete? Competition can be good for both of us haha.

I can't diet for the life of me, I could do with dropping about 40 pounds to get back the hottness I had before I got married.
But guess what, I like meh foods way to much!
Somehow can't seem to fit in the exercise needed to drop a few pounds. When ever I get to the gym in our block (there's a gym in our building complex) there will be some skank in there playing horrid chinese pop music, which just makes me depressed and want to eat cakes.
I was gunna hit the pool this morning, guess what it's pissing down with rain, just like last Friday morning!!
Excuses, excuses...
Good luck Vc.

Jasn we can't compete. Guys lose faster then women. You'd win automatically and your head would get even bigger. *smooches*
The goal has to be there and I also have to weigh myself every 3-4 weeks. It's a must, don't ask.
Thanks for the well wishes guys *hugs*

If only I had a gun!
Mang, people out here have the freakiest taste in music. I nearly got my head kicked in on the train the other day.
I'm standing there and next to me are this gang of big ass triad punks, all crazy hair colours and huge tats, real pumped up guys. Anyway the biggest of the lot's phone starts ringing...
It was "I'm a big big girl in a big big world!"
BWAHAHAHAHAHA
I nearly died laughing! I just couldn't hold it in... Apparently Mr. Meathead didn't see the funny side and wanted to kill me, but his friends wouldn't let him!!

The thing about excerise, is what we feel is actually a lot, isn't really at all. Our bodies are designed to do some incredible things, and getting rid of fat storage, if its natural fat that is...
I gotta hand it to runners... i used to run but i stopped for a bit.. I am a pretty fit guy, my job demands it... I ride my bike around, and I left weights but those runners, they are way more fit then me. You don't really know how out of shape you really are until you run, and i mean outside, not on the treadmill, theres a huge difference.
It has certain beneficial factors of course.. if you're a runner, chances are your heart is pretty strong, and how this affects your life is uncomparable. Every little thing, no matter how minor it is, seems so much easier with a strong heart. It just makes every little physical movement so much easier.
What i'm saying is, if you really wanna get hardcore into the exercising, it feels like a lot of work, and we equate that to weight loss, if you run though, it makes your exercises easier, or rather.. you can push yourself more.
Anyways, tell me how that goes. My sister's trying to drop some pounds ands really getting to her that shes not losing it fast enough, perhaps you should look at like something you are doing for health, or to feel good and energized, rather then for looks perhaps. I think the looks just follow from the process, but the rewards go beyond that. If you are more fit, you're more likely to burn more energy on average, because you'll be motivated to put extra effort into things, and that kind of assures the weight doesn't come back.
Anyways good luck, you have it in you, people have un-realised potential, you just gotta get into the right mind-set and quit doubting yourself, because thinking doubtful thoughts has no cosntructive purpose, its just a habit, or fear, brought on by conditioning, subconcious thoughts / previous "failures", and a lack of motivation or fear. The secret's in the mind, not the meal. ;)
