View Full Version : Three A.M. Is NOT Playtime!!!

The last two nights my son has woke up around 3 a.m., gotten into his sister's bunk, and started whaling on her until she woke up and began to whine.

Turning off the night light so he can't see what he's doing doesn't help.

Putting him back in his bed doesn't help.

Better her than me. When he gets in my bed, he takes it over.

I have had to take my daughter out of her bed, install her on the couch (she isn't sleeping in my bed; I want to sleep -- can't do that with a squirmy kid in the bed), and lock the door so he can't get out until he falls back asleep.

Since little ones usually wake up at night when they're learning something new, or mastering a new phase of development, I wonder what the hell he is up to?

To add insult to injury, there will be no time for a nap today; it is my daughter's therapy day, which means we have to be out of the house to get her from school during the usual siesta time.

That little turkey; he's lucky he's so freaking cute.

It's not like the room is unsafe, or that I don't have a baby monitor in the room. If he got in trouble, I would be in there in no time flat. as soon as he's asleep, I unlock it anyway.

A lock is the only way to go in case of emergency.

My cat thinks anything past 9pm is playtime. She used to be really bad, but has calmed down quite a bit. Its still annoying when she wakes me up at 12am. She used to wake me up at 12am, 1am, 2am, 3am, and 4am so I am thankful for that.

Glad I don't have kids :). A kitty is enough.

Oh I have those too. The nightly cat stampede has learned to avoid my bed as a route.

W00t! Spoke too soon about no nap, I think.

We went to Long's after I dropped my daughter off at school, to get some stickers to play with and as soon as we got home, he started carrying on like he was tired, rubbing his eyes and asked for his "binky milk" -- which is his pacifier and a sippy cup of milk, his loyal bedtime companions.

When I didn't get his shoes and jacket off fast enough for him, he was pretty upset.

Up the ladder to the top bunk, and out like a light. He didn't even do his usual pre-sleep mumbling.

So now, my faithful minions, adieu until later. Mommy's going to get some sleep.

Yeah, I know, I was being silly.
It's a song from back in the day.
The KLF aka The Timelords. they once did a song with Tammy Wynett?
Never mind.

It’s my fault he wakes up at 3 am you know, it is a plot to get you up to talk to us night owls at AMCON. At 3 am I turn on the Martian long distance brain zapulator and command him to wake up with the hope that you will turn on your puter and chat with us. Has not worked yet for some reason.

Damn you, then! Darn you to heck!

You bastard!

It must not have been working last night because he slept through. Whew!
