I will note that I've taken that test a few times before, and usually my economic score is closer to -7.

I am a true leftist though, further to the left then any of the worlds current leaders, including some that re seen as being leftists.

I find these tests irritating since they are too general.

For instance on the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." part I would put "Depends"...

In addition they ask things that should be true or false questions.

Like you know it asks if the advantage of a one party autocratic state is it generally gets things done faster.

That is true no matter what side your on, it's just whether you'd think that's a worthy sacrifice that makes you "left" or right" or not. For instance a leftist would say something like "At what cost? Curbing social freedoms etc etc..."

The test is definitely easily manipulated, and is not perfect. More for fun than anything else. No one should join any political parties because the test told them they're left/right/libertarian/authoritarian, nor do I suspect that to happen anyway.

The test doesn't probe beliefs, it reflects them. It encourages people to answer the questions that will provide a response that is most to their liking, not accurate to their true political leanings.

It's not so much who you are as who you think you are. I pretended I was Mustapha Mond and the chart came out completely appropriate.

Anything so easily manipulated doesn't really tell you anything new or insightful.

Many children are mentally broken for life by the abuse they go through. Some children even end up dead because of the physical abuse they suffer from one or both of their parents.

If people ignore that uncomfortable fact, those children are killed twice. At least that is the way I feel about it.
