Am I the only person that is sick and tired of the alarmist society in which we now live? Now, I know that everything is far from fucking peaching in the world but god damnit, things are not as bad as people are making it out to be. Everything is so sensationalised now it is pathetic. I am truly surpirsed the there aren't packs of wild humans hunting down other humans in the streets for food.
Everywhere I go is doom and gloom. No, my head is not in the sand. I can see; I mean really see. I am not enlightened to the secrets plans of the powers that be but I am no idiot (depending on who you ask).
People have really short attention spans and seem to forget the past. Gas rationing of the late 70's/early 80's (Thanks jimmy) to name one that has happened in my lifetime. I remember waiting in line on certain days of the week, so mom and dad could fill up the Pacer. But never once did we think that society was crumbling before our very eyes.
And if it does, so fucking what. It has happened before and it will all happen again. I knife, a fork, a bottle and a cork, thats the way to spell New, York!
Everything isn't a fucking conspiracy; Not everyone has some super secret nefarious agenda. Some actually want us to move forward; some actually care about humanity.

I agree though; it's the news -- bad news sells. Fear sells. Our culture has been conditioned to be afraid so we keep buying and buying and consuming the earth.
I know some people don't like Michael Moore, but he made this point in Bowling for Columbine and in my own opinion, he was right on the money.
Watch it, I like being bitten but unless you're a hot Canadian, you are out of luck.
As for Michael Moore: He's an Assbag. But that doesn't mean he never makes valid points. I try explaining to people that just because someone is an asshole does not mean that they are not a good person. It makes no sense but I know so many assholes it is pathetic but they all seem to have some sort of redeaming quality.
It makes sense to me, shut up!
