Share you cleaning secrets here -- if you dare!
My first one is inspired by the massive fridge cleaning underway at the moment.
I had a case of coke I got from Costco that someone had apparently dropped or crushed and I didn't realize it until I found it had leaked at the bottom of the closet. About half the cokes had obvious holes in the cans, so I threw them out. The rest I washed with soap and water, and when dry, put them all in the fridge.
Well, some of those bastards had microscopic slow leaks and coke has decorated the shelf at the bottom of the main compartment. Plus, the maple syrup has a way of leaving bottle-shaped marks inside the door.
Rather than scrub scrub scrub with cleanser and still not get it clean, there is a great short cut.
make a thick paste with baking soda, then cover the sticky mess liberally with it, making sure the paste is pushed well down into the stains.
Wait for it to dry, a few hours. Once dry, apply white vinegar to each spot in turn, scrubbing while the mess bubbles.
Smells rank, but works very well. I just coated my fridge, and will be scrubbing it with vinegar this afternoon during the final phase of Operation Inspection.
