I ordered this from Netflix. The last disk containing episodes 10 through 12, will arrive today. I was going to wait to see the last three episodes, but I have to push this on everyone.

This show is exquisite in historical detail, superlative acting, and costumes that are a LARPer's wet dream. It's worth watching just for the costumes -- all the other stuff just makes it better.

Watching the meltdown of the Catholic Church in England, and the downfall of Cardinal Wolsey is quite satisfying. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays the young Henry the VIII brilliantly, and the actress that plays Anne Boleyn looks amazingly like one of her portrait miniatures.

I don't know how I'm going to get by until Season 2 is released. Netflix says they don't know when that will be yet, so I guess I'm out of luck for several months at least.

I loved HBO's Rome for similar reasons, but in many ways, I think the Tudors is superior. The political situation, with all the maneuvering and betrayal, is excellently portrayed, and fascinating to watch.

If you like historical docudramas, then this is a great choice, I highly recommend it.

I only get HBO but since I am FASINATED but Henry VIII I might have to try out your Fancy Netflix thing. Every one loves a womanizing megalomaniac!

Wow. The last disc had only the season finale on it, and it was great! I like how the cliffhanger had to do with Anne instead of politics.

And lucky, lucky me! Last night I was channel surfing and saw that the Tudors was on, and when I tuned in, it turned out that Season 2 had just started this week, so I got to see the first episode of this new season.

Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Corey, you want DVDs, PM me your addy and I'll get you copies of season 1. I'm not going to burn season 2 off the TV because it's always a PITA. I'll wait for it to come out on disc.
