Yo Mama

We all have dreams when we have heavy things on our minds. Some people have recurring themes.
What's yours?
With me, when I'm really overwhelmed and stressed about one or more things (like I am right now), I dream of zombies.
I've dreamed of zombies when I'm stressed out since I saw the original Night of the Living Dead when I was 12. The symbolism stuck in my subconscious, and now, with very few exceptions, if I have a zombie dream, I know I'm worried about something.
I have a lot on my mind this week -- my car's check engine light came on for no apparent reason yesterday for instance. I thought the oil was low, put in a quart, but it still came on. It went off after about 20 seconds of driving, but since the car has less than 25K miles on it, it bothers me.
There's a bunch more shit on my plate, but that was what I was thinking about when I finally fell asleep.
And last night I had at least one zombie dream, maybe more. I'm always in a building or house, and the zombies are outside. They try to get in, I try to keep them out. Sometimes, if I'm worried about my kids, the kids are with me in the dream, and I'm trying to protect them. Last night my kids were with me (my daughter is having some bad emotional issues right now).
For once, the building was very zombie-proof. They couldn't get in. But then one of my cats somehow turned into one and I had to spend quite some time trying to catch it without getting bitten and getting it out of the house.
I woke up more tired than when I went to bed.
Funny thing is, the zombies never catch me or my kids. I always get us away. Any innocent bystanders nearly always get caught and eaten, but I never do.
These dreams used to freak me out really badly, but now I'm jaded and I just wake up tired from fighting them and running from them all night.
Let me tell you, a zombie Bengal is no fun at all.
