Alright, so some of you know I'm voting for Nader in the upcoming '08 elections, now at the same time
I figure quite a few might be asking why exactly I'm voting for him.

Well the main reason being that I was just gonna choose the lesser of three evils, that being either the
Democratic candidate or the Socialist or Green candidates, and I know, third parties and whatnot.

Anyways I'm voting for Nader because he is the only presidential candidate I agree with the most.

So now I'll list some of the various reasons I like him, they are;

*He has, for more then thirty years fought for the consumers rights and is one of the primary reason all cars
have to have Seatbelts among other things.

*He was influential in the creation of the EPA.

*He's supported environmental causes since the mid-90's.

*He supports legalizing Marijuana, taking Hemp off the list of drugs and treating addiction as a health
issue and not as a criminal one.

*He's pro-choice. (It's important to me even though I'm male.)

*He's vehemently anti-corporate power.

*Believes that supporting Human Rights and alleviating global poverty should be cornerstones of America's foreign policy.

*Supports Fair Trade. (I'm more Free trade, but I forgive him on this.)

*Supports government reform including fair elections, complete publically funded elections (candidates would
have a set amount of funds, and could'nt spend millions beyond it) and generally supports clean, transparent
and direct democratic government.

*Supports Universal Healthcare, and considers it a Human Right.

*Is against the patriot act and supports cutting waste of money in the military as well as cutting the military
funding by 65-100 billion dollars (that's about 1/4 at the most).

*Supports getting rid of tax breaks for corporations (the bad kind).

*Supports a fair progressive tax code with more taxpayer insight and choice in the system (IE where your money goes).

*Was and is against the Iraq war.

So that's why I'm voting for Nader in the '08 presidential elections.

Why I'm NOT Voting for Ralph Nader

*He has, for more then thirty years fought for the consumers rights and is one of the primary reason all cars
have to have Seatbelts among other things.

Seatbelt laws are one of the most BLATANT examples of the raping of the motorists' funds through senseless ticketing.

While I am for enforcing child safety restraints (IE: Carseats), I am totally opposed to any law stating that one can be fined for choosing NOT to wear a seat belt.

However, the day that they can prove my not wearing a seatbelt is potentially harmful to anyone OTHER than myself, I may change my position on this.

Perhaps they think I might become a lethal flying projectile upon impact since I am not wearing a seat belt????

*He was influential in the creation of the EPA.

Fuck the EPA. Fuck nazi environmentalists.

I have no problem with everyone doing their part to make things a bit cleaner and "safer". However, I am VERY MUCH opposed to people being forced to do so.

*He's supported environmental causes since the mid-90's.

See previous response

*Believes that supporting Human Rights and alleviating global poverty should be cornerstones of America's foreign policy.

What about the Human Rights and poverty WITHIN the United States?

I say, FIX THAT SHIT, and THEN worry about everone else.

*Supports Universal Healthcare, and considers it a Human Right.

If it wouldn't be abused within the States, I would support it. However, it would be a tremendous cluster fuck here as a result of our "keepers" using it to line their own pockets like they do everything else.

I'm not a socialist.

Besides, it's Ralph FUCKING Nader. What an asshat he is.

That rocks man! Way to stand up for what you believe in! But, I have to go with Jasn on this one.

He was influential in the creation of the EPA: I am not a fan of any large Government agency. I like the work they do, but once you give a group of people power over something they will always seek more and abuse it.

Believes that supporting Human Rights and alleviating global poverty should be cornerstones of America's foreign policy: I'm kinda yes and no on this one. Yes it is our duty to help out those in need where ever they may be (peacefully). With so much suffering at home don't you think we should be looking out for number one?

He's pro-choice: I am sorta pro choice in the sense that don't think a bunch of old men should decide what a women can and can not do with her body. Now I am against abortion, and I personally view it as a last resort kinda thing. What gives a man the right to control what a women does with her body.

Supports Universal Health care, and considers it a Human Right: As much as I think we should have it, its not the American way. With this will come more taxes, and remind me again what that lil scuffle in the late 1700s was all about again? I am fed up with people living off of my hard earned dollar! I'm sorry but unless you are seriously ill or have the nick name "stumps" I think you should be out there earning and SAVING!

Im writing in Steven Colbert (really?...No im a Ron Paul guy to the heart).

I did'nt say he was influential in creating seatbelt laws, but in forcing car companies to build safe, reliable seatbelts in the cars they make, I suppose I should have used a different example.
