Yeah.....

I'll take that as a compliment Lex. You know I love the way you write. It's like Mojo put it..you don't need length or a lot of description to get your point across. I WISH I COULD do that. This story was 12 pages on paper.
Thanks for not saying it resembled a cheezy romance novel....
That is sort of the reaction I expected.

It was a compliment.

Much better than my tale,
thought up and written
off the cuff.

Oh well....

That would be where we differ. I cannot write off the cuff. I get an idea, then I brainstorm scenarios, phrases, how the story will flow. I know the ending before I write the first sentence. I have to plan it all out. Write it, then edit it before I even key it in. Usually works into days or even weeks sometimes if iam too busy to get to finishing it.

True talent for both of us Lex..just in different ways.

I also need a really good inspiration, and I need to be able to become the character. Yes I know a lot of writers say that..but it's true. I also prefer to write what I know. I do enough real life research without trying to incorporate it into my fiction.
Now.. i'm off to write again..for over yonder. I got a new or rather old story in my head.

Aw come on Steve...it's not about competing with me. Just write something.
IDEA!

Use your talent for images, and put what you see into descriptive words. Can you try that? I wrote all this from that picture above by Luis Royo. Just one picture does say a thousand words. Just find the words Steve.

Brilliant story FS.

You had me hooked from this sentence.
"As if the stones themselves were sad to be in this place, and wept continuously. "

Loved it. The bar has now been set.

btw for anyone that loves fantasy art Luis Royo is a god. :)

Thanks Monkey boy. Just what I wanted to hear. I love to grab the reader right from the get go. And I totally agree about Royo.
