Millions of British airline passengers face mandatory fingerprinting before being allowed to board flights when Heathrow’s Terminal 5 opens later this month.

For the first time at any airport, the biometric checks will apply to all domestic passengers leaving the terminal, which will handle all British Airways flights to and from Heathrow

All four million domestic passengers who will pass through Terminal 5 annually after it opens on March 27 will have four fingerprints taken, as well as being photographed, when they check in.

ever noticed how the ramping up of these sort of laws is NOT directly related to terrorism?

in Au we havent had a terror attack yet we get the same shit with them being able to hold people without access to anyone or legal advice for something like 30 days.

so they could swoop you off the street and return you 30 days later and nobody would have known what happened to you.
they brought that law in for the sydney 2000 games, and decided to extend it till 2015 or something stupid like that.

i wouldnt want to fly if thats the sort of extremes you have to go to. its basically like guilty until proven innocent, they can force you to give all sorts of data JUST so you can board an airplane.

do they honestly think someone like ol' Binney laden is going to walk into an airport and say "im osama bin laden. id like to check in for my 5 oclock flight to your infidel filled city called new york.
heres my fingerprint, retina scan, hair follicle, mouth swab, blood sample, stool sample, height and weight measurements.

it shouldnt matter. as long as you dont go through the scanners wearing your suicide belt and packing a 9mm you'll be fine.
its not like you can even take a cigarette lighter onboard so you cant light that fuse in your nike's sole.
no spraycans, damnit! now i cant spray mace in the cabin.
no box cutter or butter knife? shit, cant stab anyone.

soon they'll stop you taking on shoes and belts so you cant hang yourself with your own shoe laces or belt

we'll end up under so much scrutiny you'll have to board the plane naked.

just like a bunch of mexican drug pushers working in the nuddy' so nobody can steal any of the stash.

oops, got a bomb up my arse. damnit now they'll start searching up there too!

They have that in Norway..oh wait that's to the nudist colony though, never mind.

I'm not surprised that this happens in the UK, they (as in the UK government) screw everything p all the way from privacy laws to the European Union.
