New documents shown at a dramatic closed-door briefing to diplomats in Vienna by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s chief nuclear inspector, Olli Heinonen, provided new evidence that Iran continues to work on developing a nuclear warhead for its long-range ballistic missiles, despite a recent report to the contrary from the U.S. intelligence community.

I guarantee you if Iran develops nukes, either it will cause a new war in the middle east or it will push the global disarmament cause (which has support from people like Kissenger) much faster then it is currently going.

Personally I think the UN should tell Iran it can't have Nuclear anything and if they want clean energy then they should build big solar arrays, since they are in the middle of a desert.

shit yes there will be another war(bigger extension of the same war) in the sandbox if they develope nukes.

You're all confusing Persia with Arabian lands. I don't blame you. Your phony media doesn't make any distinction.

Their people are also beautiful. Don't compare them (or their dressing) to Arabs. Arabs are dumb-shit. And relatively uncultured.

They are not Arabs. Don't ever compare them to the stupid Arabs.

And they don't dress like fuckin' beekeepers. Headscarf is different, as you can see from the vids. Plus it's only for when they're out in public. Nothing wrong with modesty, right?

I know Iran is'nt completely desert.

However they do have desert as well and border the Arabian countries.
Iran could work with the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain to develop a multinational project there.

It would benefit all of them, especially the UAE since it may well become the first country to turn into a city-state.

It wouldn't be enough energy. The country is large; the population enormous. The desert portion isn't huge. Not to mention it's rough and mountainous where it borders (plus those countries you mentioned are across a thing called the Persian Gulf...)

Maybe it can supplement some solar with some wind power... but how good is that? Even your country isn't utilising those options fully.

You know nuclear energy is the way forward for any country. Even Thailand and Malaysia is looking into those options (even though Malaysia has oil as well).

They could if they split it up into sections.
For instance the United States could supply all of its energy needs (not counting cars that are'nt electric) with solar power if a plant 1/10 the size of Nevada was built.
Anyways even if you don't have dedicated plants in Iran, they could still require all large buildings to have solar panels on the roofs, or do what Israel has done, require all homes to have solar powered water heaters, which would take a considerable strain off of overall power need.

Anyways, the Persian gulf is'nt that massive, and it would be easy to run heavy duty buried energy lines under it connecting Iran, Bahrain and the other three.

The United States is only know really starting to use alternatives simply because the government has been full of conservatives and Skeptics up until recently, so it's not exactly a fair comparison.

Nuclear energy, while it may be better then coal, is hardly the best option, especially when you consider the fact that a single nuclear fission plant produces several barrels of nuclear waste that wont be safe for thousands of years a year.

Nuclear Fusion would'nt be so bad since it only produces a cup of waste a year, but since commercial nuclear Fusion is'nt expected until 2035 at the least, all countries should be investing in Wind, Solar, Geothermal, Hydroelectric and wave power.

Also, Iran actually does have Hydroelectric and Wind plants and has a solar power plant set to open next year, so good on them for that.
