When I was a young kid, we were always told that this one part of the local park was called hobo jungle. Cause that's where all the hobos lived(they didn't call them homeless yet). I remember going on field trips there and we'd all be walking on thie pier type walkway and a kid would say behind you "watch out, a hobo might grab ya".
Never did find out if the homeless lived in there. It was kind of a stale water lake type thing. Alot of wildlife and tall weed/grasses.

Just thought I'd share. Anyone have one thats local to them?

A waterhole where i lived in the northern territory was said by the local aborigines to be the home of the rainbow serpent.

there was an old cottage in mt barker that was abandoned that the local kids said was were a serial killer lived.

They say that if you were trekking in the jungles of South East Asia, you should avoid walking through a "gate" that is made of two almost identical trees. To do so would send you through a "portal" into another place/dimension where you would be hopelessly lost.

You are talking about me... i just know it.

I was told of a story about a witch that was hung and if you were near where she lived(her house) at night you would be able to see a lantern in her window. I was never able to find her house but the full story..... if I could remember it, is a great ghost story.
