March 1
Columbia sends its military just under 2 miles into Ecuador's territory and essentially massacred a camp of FARC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FARC) rebels.
Colombia did'nt tell Ecuador about it until after the fact.
Later that day Ecuador and Venezuela since their own military troops to their borders with Colombia.
Columbia immediately recalled its ambassador for consultations on the matter.

March 2
Ecuador expelled the Colombian ambassador and lodged a formal complaint against Colombia.

March 3rd
Venezuela expelled Colombian diplomats including those at the Colombian embassy.
Venezuela halted trade at two major border crossings.
Later that day Ecuador announced that it was cutting all formal relations with Colombia.

March 4
Venezuela officially closed its border with Colombia.
The president of Colombia in response announced that Colombia would be bringing charges against Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez to the International Criminal Court on charges of funding terrorism and genocide.
The United States says that it will militarily back Colombia in a war.

March 5
Ecuador says it will re-establish relations with Colombia if "in the very improbable circumstance" of that country offering an unrestricted apology, ensuring that no similar incidents take place in the future, and retracting its allegations of ties between Quito and the FARC.

March 6
The organization of American States (OAS) criticizes but does not officially condemn Colombia's actions.
Nicaragua officially breaks diplomatic ties with Colombia over the incident.
Colombia's president blames Ecuador for the situation and refuses to rule out military incursions into Ecuador or Venezuela, an act both countries have stated will be an act of war.

March 7
The presidents of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Nicaragua publicly shake hands on live television.
Nicaragua agrees to re-establish diplomatic relations with Colombia.

March 8
Venezuela announces that it willbe re-establishing full diplomatic relations with Colombia.

Anyways this is pretty important news since Venezuela is a major OPEC member, Colombia is basically a US backed country that while is'nt a puppet exactly will generally do as we ask and Ecuador is a major Venezuelan ally.

Well, the prices of gas and cocaine are going to skyrocket.

I guess all the crackheads in my neighborhood will be on burglary and scandalous shit double overtime. Sigh.

Id' like to point out that both the Democratic candidates are spineless wusses who are backing Colombia.


Also, I wonder if the US could actually go to war with Venezuela and Ecuador since it would mean alot of negative diplomatic relations with many countries and the fact that we're already stretched with Iraq.
