Caught the first two episodes last night. A very interesting show.
First show was on strength, and provided examples of ordinary people showing superhuman strength and speed, a mountain climber in NM who had a 500 lb rock on top of him, sending him down a slope to his death, was able to push the rock up and over him, saving his life. A police officer caught in a fire storm, was able to run faster than a 100 m sprinter to get into his car. Lastly, showing a man who swam the 21 (or was it 23) mile distance in teh English Channel, how our body is meant to do what his does (in terms of calorie/fat consumption).

The second episode was about human sight. This was a very very interesting episode! Examples included a firefighter in a very smoky room able to find the fire by using cones, and the rods to find the slumped body of the person stuck in the house, passed out, a lifeguard able to distinguish between people having fun in the water and someone who is distressed, and making the decision on how close or far out in the water the victim is. Amazing!

For only two episodes, Its made me wonder about our origins. Human bone is a kind of 'material' not found anywhere else. The stress that can be put on our bones is suprising. We can do a lot more, unfortunately it only shows during moments of extreme stress and life-threatening situations. Our bodies are amazing! Even if you have pudge, thats how its supposed to be. We are Human, we are nothing this world has ever seen!!!

I think they're showing these eps tonight.
