It's reruns from Season 1 going on broadcast TV.
Season 3
A third season of Dexter was announced following the season two finale, in which an ad ran assuring Dexter would return in 2008. Showtime President Robert Greenblatt also confirmed that a third season is planned to start airing on September 30, 9 PM ET/PT.
Worry not, you've already seen the ones they're going to put on ABC or CBS or whoever it is.

Chick, you know I have both seasons on DVD.
Unfortunately my DVD burner is kaput. I have a new one ready to install, I'm just too sick to do it.
Remind me when I'm no longer a member of the living dead and I'll cut you copies.

Not any good, though. They have to cut at least 16 minutes for ads. Just not the same. I'll get you copies of the real deal ASAP.

Of course they do! As aired on Showtime, each episode is about 54 minutes. On broadcast TV, you get 2 minutes of show per 1 minute of commercials. So they have to cut stuff out right there to make it fit. But then there is stuff that they aren't allowed to broadcast on primetime -- all the good bits.
