This is the other reason I've stuck with plain old DVDs. the other is, I can't afford to upgrade. I knew it would be a Betamax vs. VHS type slugfest.

Good I am glad that it finally was solved which it will be. I didnt want to be one of the unlucky ones that bought an HD player, and have blu ray win out. That is great hopefully now the prices will start coming down on them.

Why do people feel the need to spend more money on entertainment? Why not just stick with what you got for more then 3 days and spend some money to better your community? Like donate to your local homless shelter or crack addict?

It is about keeping up with the jones', we are a country of consumers, mostly cheap junk from china. I guess for some people giving doesnt feel as good as having. I have had my DVD player since 99, so it is time for another one, and a blu ray it will be. We give money, toys and clothes during christmas, but I need to get something for sitting at this job eight hours a day trying to keep from stabbing my eyes out.

Hubby just plays the blue ray on his PS3. He was waiting to see what would happen, but the prices are crazy right now. I stick to reg old dvd's. He has to have the super fancy blue cases *insert rolling eyes* Men....pfft

He has a PS3, ah, no fair, I want one of those. I got an x box 360, I tried to talk the wife into a playstation but she wanted the 360. Men like shiny things, just remember that, my wife usually can distract me with a shiny quarter when we are fighting. Here look beast, shiny, nice ,you like, go get it, then she throws it, and I spend hours just holding it and watching it shine.

i will eventually get an hd dvd player but i am not really jonsing for it...my regular dvd's look just fine on my big screen:):)
